Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has indicated that a permanent move for Manchester United's Antony depends on whether the Spanish club can secure Champions League football.

Antony has struggled to produce his best form at Old Trafford ever since he completed an £85m transfer from Dutch giants Ajax.

The Brazilian made 96 competitive appearances for the Red Devils, mustering 12 goals and five assists before he moved on loan to Betis in the recent January transfer window.

Antony has made a positive impact in his short time in Spain, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 11 matches in all competitions.

As a result, Cardoso cannot be considered a Spurs player just yet, but the midfielder recently confirmed the existence of an agreement with the Lilywhites when asked by Diario de Sevilla.

Derby County have announced the signing of veteran defender Erik Pieters on a free transfer.

John Eustace was recently appointed as the club's new head coach in a move that the Rams will hope lead to survival in the Championship.

Nine points being accumulated from six matches, the three wins in question coming in succession before the international break, have taken Derby to within one point of safety in the second-tier table.

However, with eight matches remaining, Eustace has strengthened his squad with the acquisition of former Netherlands international Pieters.

Liverpool have received a significant fillip in their hopes of signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who has opened the door to a move away from the Cherries this summer.

While most of the full-back talk at Anfield has centred around Trent Alexander-Arnold and his impending move to Real Madrid, Arne Slot is also facing uncertainty on the left-hand side.

Andy Robertson remains the Reds' first choice on that flank over Kostas Tsimikas, but the Scotland international is out of contract in 2026 and has come under fire for poor performances this season.

Slot supposedly still wants to keep Robertson at the club for the 2025-26 season, but his long-term future remains unclear, and Liverpool are believed to be planning for life without the former Hull City man.

Nottingham Forest have reportedly added an AC Milan loanee to their list of potential summer transfer targets.

The East Midlands outfit are currently bidding to end the 2024-25 campaign with Champions League qualification and a piece of silverware.

As well as sitting in third position in the Premier League table, Nuno Espirito Santo's side are preparing to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Given their previous points deductions and near misses with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules, Forest are not necessarily in a position where they can spend freely in the summer market.

Nineteen-year-old phenom Echeverri is now being put through his paces by Pep Guardiola and his staff at Man City's training base, having returned from his loan spell at River Plate in January.

Echeverri is yet to make his debut for the reigning Premier League champions, but the youngster has been hailed as a "special" player and has been tipped for big things at the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentina Under-20 international could realistically enjoy a breakthrough campaign at City next season, as Kevin De Bruyne is out of contract in the summer, while James McAtee could also leave in search of regular minutes.

Liverpool make Quansah 'plan' as Newcastle receive £30m transfer answer

Liverpool have reportedly made a decision on the future of Jarell Quansah amid talk of Newcastle United considering a move for the centre-back this summer.

The Magpies are said to be plotting a £30m swoop for the defender ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window, having struggled for starts over Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk this season.

Quansah has turned out 22 times in all competitions for Arne Slot's side this season, but he has only started twice in the Premier League, most recently against Newcastle United in December.

The 2003-born Englishman did make the first XI for the opening game of the season against Ipswich Town too, but he was memorably hauled off at half time for Konate, who has been Van Dijk's first-choice partner since.

Club 'monitoring' Saints forward as summer exit looms ahead of likely relegation

© Imago

Southampton loanee Albert Gronbaek is reported to be attracting interest from Marseille, who are said to be willing to jump ahead of the Saints to sign the forward.

The 2024-25 season could hardly have gone worse for Southampton given the club are currently in last place in the Premier League with just nine points after 29 matchweeks.

There is a risk that boss Ivan Juric could claim the unwanted record for fewest points in a Premier League season considering his team have yet to surpass Derby County's points tally of 11 from 2007-08.

Relegation to the Championship would undoubtedly lead to the exits of several players, and while Tyler Dibling has often been mentioned in the headlines, it would not be surprising if others also left.
