Hull City boss Steve Bruce hopes Manchester City have an off-day

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is hopeful that Manchester City have an "off-day" in tonight's Capital One Cup quarter-final.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has claimed that his team have a chance of causing an upset against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup if Manuel Pellegrini's side have an "off-day".

The Tigers will take on the Premier League giants this evening for a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.

Championship opposition Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday have already caused upsets by beating Manchester United and Arsenal respectively, and Bruce is hopeful that Hull can do something similar.

"The one thing we'll have to do is play well and to our maximum," the Hull Daily Mail quotes Bruce as saying. "If we can do that and they have one of their rare off-days, you never know. We have to enjoy the challenge of it, to enjoy playing in a quarter-final again. We've got to believe we can go there and cause an upset."

Hull have beaten Accrington Stanley, Rochdale, Swansea City and Leicester City on their route to the quarter-finals.
