Half-Time Report: Andriy Yarmolenko puts Dynamo Kiev in front against Maccabi Tel Aviv

Andriy Yarmolenko scores early as Dynamo Kiev lead against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Andriy Yarmolenko's early goal has put Dynamo Kiev on course for their first victory in the Champions League group phase as they lead against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Sergei Rebrov's side went ahead inside four minutes after a through-ball from Derlis Gonzalez found Yarmolenko in space before the forward smashed his shot into the bottom corner.

Maccabi thought that they had equalised on nine minutes when Eran Zahavi ran away from Antunes before poking the ball into the net, but Zahavi was adjudged to have been in an offside position before he shook off the attentions of his marker.

After Danilo Silva struck his effort straight at Maccabi keeper Predrag Rajkovic, the Israelis almost found a breakthrough goal at the other end after Zahavi crossed for Eden Ben Basat, but his hesitation allowed the ball to run out of play.

Zahavi, who has scored seven goals for Maccabi in the competition so far, almost produced an equaliser later in the half after timing his run to perfection, but he mis-hit his shot wide of the target.
