Team News: John Stones makes first Everton start since October

John Stones returns to the Everton side as one of three changes for today's game at home to Stoke City.

John Stones has been included in the Everton starting XI for the first time since October after recovering from an ankle injury to face Stoke City this afternoon.

James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas have also been reinstated to the side by Roberto Martinez as the Toffees look to bounce back following a 3-0 thumping by Southampton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Stoke have made just two changes from the side that lost 2-0 to league leaders Chelsea on Monday night.

Glenn Whelan comes into the side to replace Phil Bardsley, with Geoff Cameron slotting in at right-back, while Mame Biram Diouf is preferred to Peter Crouch up front.

Everton: Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Stones, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Mirallas, Naismith, Barkley, Lukaku
Subs: Joel, Eto'o, McGeady, Kone, Distin, Garbutt, Alcaraz

Stoke: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Muniesa, Pieters, Whelan, Nzonzi, Walters, Bojan, Arnautovic, Diouf
Subs: Butland, Huth, Wilson, Palacios, Adam, Assaidi, Crouch
