Bayern Munich restored their 13-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga thanks to a 5-0 thumping of Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Mario Gotze opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a brilliant chest and volley into the far corner, before a second from Franck Ribery just before half time put them 2-0 ahead at the break.

In the second half it was complete domination for Bayern, with Arjen Robben, Dane and finally Mario Mandzukic each scoring to complete the thumping win.

Hello all! Well after the drama in Berlin, I'm back for our second Bundesliga comm. It's almost kickoff time, so I'll quickly bring the team across to you.

BAYERN XI: Neuer; Alaba, Dante, Boateng, Rafinha; Lahm; Ribery, Shaqiri, Thiago, Gotze; Mandzukic

FRANKFURT XI: Trapp; Jung, Madlung, Russ, Djakpa; Schwegler, Flum; Meier, Barnetta; Rosenthal; Joselu

KICKOFF: Here we go then. The hosts get us underway in their traditional red. Frankfurt are in black and white.

Neither side are on top of this early on. Frankfurt are keeping a good shape and although Bayern are seeing a lot of the ball there hasn't been a chance yet.

SAVE: Mandzukic is the first player to have an effort at goal from an angle in the box. Rafinha crossed and the striker shot well on the turn, but Trapp dived to his left to push it away.

CLOSE! Bayern are slowly upping the tempo here. Alaba is forward and combines with Ribery but no cross comes in and they remain patient. Mandzukic then chests down a ball to Rafinha, who cut on to his left but clipped the outside of the post with his shot.

GOAL! Bayern 1-0 Frankfurt (Mario Gotze)

What a brilliant goal that is! The ball is headed down to Gotze by Rafinha and he takes it on his chest before volleying low into the far corner. Wonderful effort.

Mandzukic is down here and is bleeding from the eye. He went up with a header with Trapp, but the man with the gloves won! Mandzukic takes a nasty blow to the head and will have to go off for treatment.

Frankfurt come forward for the first time in the game. Djakpa looks for the early cross from the left, but it's massively overhit and Barnetta on the right cannot keep it in play. That's a waste as they had men over in the attack.

Frankfurt are much more in this game now than around 10 minutes ago. Although they're not helping themselves in attack - Rosenthal this time manages to catch himself offside from a free kick trying to get down the left.

SAVE! That probably should be 2-0, but it's a good stop from the visiting keeper. Ribery did well down the left to create space for a low cross, and Gotze arriving late saw his shot blocked by Trapp.

Bayern are passing patiently, probing for the opening as they always can. They've had a few very good chances already, but they are by no means dominating with shots. They always fancy their chances of creating that one more chance - as the win over Stuttgart showed.

CLOSE! Rafinha's shot from range hits Russ then ends up going out of play off a Bayern forward. That double deflection could have gone anywhere.

Mandzukic is down again and once more is off receiving treatment. This time he took a ball in the face from close range - it hasn't been his day so far! Both looked very painful.

SAVE! Neuer tested for the first time in the game. A cross from the right is spectacularly sliced towards his own top corner by Thiago, but Neuer sprawls to tip it over. Great stop.

What a brilliant counter-attack from Bayern. Shaqiri started it before Gotze played it inside to Alaba, whose cross was hacked over his own bar by Djakpa.

What a waste by Joselu there. He's away for the first time in the game down the left and running at pace. He had Jung busting a gut to get into the box on his right, but decided the best option was a shot and suitably blazed his effort over.

Frankfurt can't even get a look of the ball at the moment, as Bayern zip it around to the right of the box. In the end Lahm's cross from the byline is headed clear. Bayern come again as Gotze tries to take on the entire defence, but eventually he's stopped by Russ.

CHANCE! A hopeful ball is hooked into the box over his head by Barnetta, with Josulu beating Boateng all too easily in the air, but his low header was easy for Neuer to gather.

GOAL! Bayern 2-0 Frankfurt (Franck Ribery)

Mandzukic wanted to turn that one in after his header from Lahm's cross was blocked, but Ribery nipped in before him to drill it in low for a goal on his return. You'd be mad to bet against Bayern here.

There will be two minutes added on at the end of the first half.

HALF TIME: Bayern 2-0 Frankfurt

So far, so good for Bayern then. They have been in control of the possession and rarely threatened. Gotze's opening goal was a superb hit and Ribery's low finish has added a cushion. This second half should be a cruise.

Frankfurt haven't been without their chances, but they haven't tested Neuer yet. At least, apart from a Thiago sliced clearance that almost went in his own net. Joselu had a half-chance that he skied and a header that was easy for the Bayern stopper.

Something has to change for Frankfurt, but for all the effort their players give they just don't have the quality to get back in this, I don't think. Bayern should score another one or two to kill this game off.

Armin Veh in his shiny grey jacket is out and into the dugout. His players are warming up on the pitch while we await Pep and his lot.

Here we go again then. We're back underway, with Bayern immediately on the ball and pinging it around.

Early corner in the half for Bayern, but they play it short before Barnetta gets the better of Shaqiri. The Bayern winger has not done a lot so far, as Ribery slashes a shot high from around 25 yards.

Really good play by Gotze there but in the end it comes to nothing. He took the pass from Ribery in his stride, shaped to shoot but in the end played it right to Rafinha. The cross was headed away before the right-back caught Djakpa late.

OFF THE POST! Very close from Gotze there after he was threaded through by Thiago. The German clipped over Trapp, but the goalkeeper got the faintest of touches to send the ball wide via the post. He's loving it out there, Gotze.

After a bit of Frankfurt possession, Bayern break down the left but Alaba's cross towards Mandzukic is an easy claim for Trapp. Schwegler is then penalised for a sliding challenge in which he won the ball. Didn't look a foul to me.

SAVE! Another good stop from Trapp, after Gotze played Shaqiri in to his left but the keeper managed to turn it around the post.

OFF THE BAR! What an effort! Ribery, on the left side of the box, attempts a delicate flick over the goalkeeper, but there's a slight deflection on it and it goes over via the crossbar.

Frankfurt have tightened up at the back, but they really cannot stop Ribery down the left. He tries another shot, this time from a tight angle, and it was easy enough for the keeper to turn around the post.

FRANKFURT SUB: Stefan Aigner comes on for Barnetta, who has run a lot but not created much.

SAVE! Trapp has really earned his wages this week. This time it's Gotze with a left-footed snap shot, but the keeper clings on.

SUBS: Arjen Robben is on for Shaqiri, while skipper Schwegler makes way for the hosts. Tobias Weis on for him.

CHANCE! What a chance for Joselu! He's played through and has so, so much time when one-on-one, but somehow he wants more! When he finally shoots Dante - yes, the tank Dante - has caught him up and made the block. Woeful finishing.

GOAL! Bayern 3-0 Frankfurt (Arjen Robben)

That is unstoppable! The ball is half-cleared by Russ, but Gotze nips in before cutting back to Robben, whose shot goes in off the underside of the bar. A great hit and Trapp had no chance. If it wasn't over before, it is now.

GOAL! Bayern 4-0 Frankfurt (Dante)

It's not your day when Dante scores against you, that's for sure. Gotze crosses from the corner and Dante is allowed to rise and then pick his spot with a low header. This is becoming a rout.

It's just a game of piggy in the middle now for Bayern. Frankfurt cannot get close. Robben glides past two players before playing in Ribery to his left. He clips across from the byline for Mandzukic, but it's just above the strikers head and in the end is slashed well wide by Rafinha on the volley.

BAYERN SUBS: Double change for the hosts here as Diego Contento and Claudio Pizarro are on for Alaba and Gotze.

FRANKFURT SUB: Trapp has taken a knock to his leg and cannot play any further part. He's conceded four but has done nothing wrong at all. Felix Wiedwald is on for him.

Frankfurt, to their credit, are still pressing well and want to win the ball. However, they just can't get close to anyone in red at the moment. They have been totally outplayed in this half.

Bayern have had 69% of the possession to this point. With 23 shots to go with it, it's a complete and utter demolition. Ribery twists and turns on the counter but his effort from a narrow angle is put wide by the new keeper Wiedwald.

This is the umpteenth corner as Russ puts a cross behind. They play it short and look to keep hold of the ball in order to see this one out.

The movement is just breathtaking at times, but Robben picks the wrong pass to Pizarro on his right when Ribery was perhaps the better option on the other side. Not to worry, though.

MISS! Oh my what a sitter by Robben! Ribery crosses from the left where Robben, in acres, blazes well over the bar.

GOAL! Bayern 5-0 Frankfurt (Mario Mandzukic)

Mandzukic gets the goal that his battling, painful performance has deserved. He cuts on to his left on the right side of the box, before clipping into the far corner. This has been a thumping. There's no other description.

There will be two extra minutes. I thought the referee might put Frankfurt out of there misery with an early whistle, but not yet.

FULL TIME: Bayern Munich 5-0 Frankfurt

The Frankfurt players aren't quite sure what's happened to them. The Bayern express, that's what. The hosts restore their 13 point lead and the Bundesliga is as good as over.

Thanks for joining me this afternoon for two excellent games of Bundesliga football. We'll be back with more next weekend, starting on Friday night. Until then it's goodbye.
