Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta: 'We have made history today'

Arsenal skipper Mikel Arteta revels in his side's 4-0 FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa.

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight at watching his teammates secure a record 12th FA Cup triumph with a 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

The Spaniard, who missed the final through injury, said that he is hoping the victory will spur the Gunners on to win more silverware next season.

"There is no better way to of finish the season. We have made history today, the most successful team in England," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"Now we go for the big one next season and hopefully more trophies will come. We have great momentum."

Arsenal lifted the trophy after Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker, and Olivier Giroud found the net at Wembley.
