Manuel Pellegrini: 'Manchester City bigger than Manchester United'

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that his club are now bigger than fierce local rivals Manchester United.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has said that his club are now bigger than fierce local rivals Manchester United.

The Chilean manager was speaking ahead of City's Champions League clash against Barcelona on Tuesday, with the Blues coach also stating that United's history shouldn't be forgotten.

"If we only consider this season, there is just one club in Manchester and it's ours but you cannot forget what United has done in the previous years," Pellegrini told reporters.

"We are aiming to keep growing by winning trophies – not just national but international trophies. We are fighting for four titles this year.

"We have to be patient because you cannot change the team from one day to another. We have to keep the philosophy of the style and for that you need time."

City take on Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
