Bolton are likely to be without Chelsea-bound Gary Cahill for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at Macclesfield Town.

Gary Cahill could miss out on Bolton's trip to League Two Macclesfield on Saturday if his transfer to Chelsea is finalised.

The two parties are currently thrashing out the personal terms of the deal.

David Wheater is likely to replace Cahill if his move is completed, while Kevin Davies could be restored to the Trotters starting lineup after he was left out of their 2-1 win against Everton.

Adam Bogdan is expected to continue in goal if Jussi Jaaskelainen fails to shake off the thigh injury that kept him out at Goodison Park.

Bolton were famously thrashed 5-0 by Stoke City in last season's semi-final, while Macclesfield dropped out in the second round to Huddersfield Town.

Current Form:

Macclesfield: DWLDWL
Bolton: LLWLDW

Possible lineups:

Macclesfield: Veiga; Tremarco, Morgan, Diagne, Brisley; Hewitt,
Daniel, Mendy, Wedgebury; Thomas, Fairhurst

Bolton: Bogdan; Steinsson, Wheater, Knight, Ricketts; Muamba,
Eagles, Pratley, Petrov; K Davies, Ngog

Sports Mole says: 0-2
