Jamie Redknapp: 'Tottenham will be title favourites with win over Liverpool'

Former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes that a win for Spurs at Anfield will see them overtake Leicester as Premier League title favourites.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has said that Spurs should be considered favourites for the Premier League title if they win at Anfield this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit second in the table, five points adrift of leaders Leicester City, but victory on Merseyside in Saturday's evening kickoff would pile the pressure on the Foxes, who do not play until Sunday.

Redknapp believes that it could be a make-or-break match for Spurs, but praised the job done by Pochettino for getting them in the race at all.

"If they go to Liverpool and win, I think they might just become favourites then, because that really puts the pressure on Leicester," he told talkSPORT.

"If Liverpool were to beat them, it might just give Leicester a little bit of breathing space.

"The job that Pochettino has done there is phenomenal, because I have to be honest, I didn't have them in the equation this year. I thought they would struggle to get into the top four."

Spurs are bidding for their first league title since 1961.
