Recent Queens Park Rangers signing Junior Hoilett has revealed that he rejected moves to Liverpool, Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The 22-year-old told Sky Sports News that the chance to reteam with QPR manager Mark Hughes convinced him to join the London outfit.
"A few clubs were interested," he said. "There was Newcastle, Sunderland and Liverpool.
"I wanted to work with the manager here at QPR. The owners are building the club and it's going in the right direction."
Hoilett, who played under the former Wales manager at Blackburn Rovers, went on to say that Hughes instilled confidence in him and helped him express himself on the pitch.
"[Hughes] gave me the confidence to play and play the style I like to play. In the early stages at Blackburn he'd tell me to express myself and do what I do best," he added.
"In the few weeks I've been here I feel comfortable and I'm enjoying my football."
Hoilett made his QPR debut in their 5-0 home defeat to Swansea City last weekend.
