Good morning folks! Lots of transfer activity has been dominating the sports headlines as of late, with notable mentions going to Manchester United, as the look to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger on a three-year deal, while it looks like Matteo Darmian will be on his way to Old Trafford soon enough. It also appears as if Tottenham Hotspur have rejected a bid for Vlad Chiriches from a Turkish club.

Reports this morning are suggesting that Fabian Delph is to have a medical at Manchester City, ahead of his rumoured £8m move to the Eithad. Could the Aston Villa captain be on his way out so soon after signing a five-year deal with the club?

It looks as if Stoke City have completed some more business in this summer's transfer window after reportedly capturing right-back Glen Johnson. The 30-year-old left Liverpool at the end of last season and has temporarily been without a club. Read about it here.

A deal that you may have missed last night was Queens Park Rangers' move for striker Tyler Blackwood. The 23-year-old, who has spent the last three years playing in America, has penned a one-year deal at Loftus Road.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been linked with numerous clubs over the past few weeks, and AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has suggested that he would welcome the Swede returning to the San Siro.

BREAKING NEWS! Newcastle United have made their first major signing of the summer, completing a deal for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum on a five-year contract.

DONE DEAL! Swindon Town have strengthened their squad with the loan signing of Liverpool defender Kevin Stewart. He will spend the whole of next season at the County Ground.

A bit of news from Scotland as reports suggest that former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch is closing in on a move to Kilmarnock. The 37-year-old was released by the Gers at the end of last season, and is being tipped to take up a player coach role at Rugby Park.

DONE DEAL! Former Swansea City goalkeeper David Cornell has made the switch to League One side Oldham Athletic. He's penned a one-year deal at Boundary Park.

DONE DEAL! Premier League newcomers Bournemouth have made their sixth signing of the summer as Italian defender Filippo Costa joins the Cherries on loan from Chievo. Costa is a former Italian Under-19 international, and will spend the season at the Goldsands Stadium.

BREAKING NEWS! Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger will be allowed to join Manchester United this summer. The World Cup winner joined Bayern as a youngster in 1998, and won eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League with the club. It's the end of an era.

DONE DEAL! Swedish striker John Guidetti has joined La Liga side Celta Vigo on a free transfer. Guidetti impressed during his loan spell at Celtic last season, and reportedly had a long list of suitors following his release from Manchester City, but it is the Spanish club that have snapped him up.

It appears that Robin van Persie's three-year spell with Manchester United is all but over. "The Van Persie transfer is done and one more star has joined the Fenerbahce constellation," the Turkish club's chairman Aziz Yildirim is quoted as saying by Hurriyet.

Tim Sherwood is reportedly keen to bring Andros Townsend to Aston Villa this summer, with £15m the figure being bandied around.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has been linked with a fair few Premier League sides in recent weeks, including both Swansea City and Newcastle United who are said to have made an approach. However, Anderlecht sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck has hinted that the star striker may be on his way to Italy. Read his quotes in full right here.

BREAKING NEWS! How about this... Fabian Delph has just revealed that he has no intention of leaving Aston Villa this summer.

"I'm aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight. I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club."

So a reminder of the two top stories today, then, which concern both Manchester clubs. Earlier today we brought you an update on Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is in line to join United for a fee of around £14m. It's not such good news for rivals City, though, as target Fabian Delph has revealed that he has no intention of leaving Villa Park.

In-demand Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has been speaking about his future, meanwhile, stating that he is only focused on helping the R's as they prepare for their opening Championship fixture next month.

Stoke have been extremely busy over the past 24 hours or so, and their transfer business shows little sign of slowing down at the moment. Boss Mark Hughes has revealed that he is looking to strengthen his squad even more before the summer window closes.

BREAKING! Manchester United have now confirmed the news that Matteo Darmian has signed from Torino. The Serie A side broke the news half-an-hour ago, and United have followed suit.

It's been a quiet summer for West Bromwich Albion so far, although history tells us that Tony Pulis likes to move late in the window. However, he is interested in Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry according to reports, but he could face a lot of competition. Read here to find out more.

Matteo Darmian has already been speaking about his move to Manchester United. The Italian has signed a four-year contract at Old Trafford and claims he is joining "the biggest club in the world". Read what he says here.

BREAKING! Real Madrid have revealed that veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas has moved to Porto.

It seems that Stoke City are edging closer to signing Glen Johnson. Manager Mark Hughes has already been speaking about the ex-Liverpool player, which shows he's confident a deal is imminent. Read what he says here.

Today has been a day full of reaction to Bastian Schweinsteiger's proposed move to former Premier League champions Manchester United. Bayern defender and World Cup winner Philipp Lahm has been speaking about his relationship with his Old Trafford-bound teammate.

The saga surrounding David De Gea's future at Old Trafford continues to rumble on. According to one report in the press, should the stopper leave for Real Madrid, United may look to explore the prospect of putting in a bid to land Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak as a replacement.
