Man United 'could be tempted' to cash in on key player next summer
Manchester United have reportedly warmed to the idea of cashing in on Real Madrid-linked defender Lisandro Martinez.
Reports earlier this week linked the Argentine centre-back with a move to the Bernabeu, given their troubles at centre-back this season.
Carlo Ancelotti has seen the likes of Eder Militao, David Alaba and stand-in Aurelien Tchouameni miss significant chunks of time, with the former two still out with serious knee injuries.
After missing out on Leny Yoro in the transfer market over the summer to Man United, Real did not pursue any other targets, and ultimately have left themselves light in that department.
"Absolutely no confidence": Is the writing on the wall for Arsenal "problem" Jesus?
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has become "a real problem" for Mikel Arteta after his latest ineffective cameo against Fulham, according to Gunners expert Charles Watts.
The Brazil international has been the Gunners' second-choice striker behind Kai Havertz since the early part of last season and is therefore often restricted to substitute appearances in the Premier League, making just two top-flight starts this term.
Jesus's last Premier League goal came all the way back in January against Nottingham Forest, since when has gone 22 top-flight matches without finding the back of the net, and his only strike in 18 appearances this season came against Preston North End in the EFL Cup.
"I think Gabriel Jesus is a real problem for Arsenal at the moment," Watts told Sports Mole. "He hasn't scored in 22 Premier League games. It's over half a season. And if one of your only two strikers is not scoring and it is not even looking like scoring when he comes on, like he did at Fulham, which was a really poor cameo from him, it's a big issue.
Brighton announce £11m January signing of Lionel Messi teammate
Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to sign Paraguay international Diego Gomez from MLS club Inter Miami.
The 21-year-old midfielder will officially join the Seagulls when the transfer window opens on January 1, 2025, subject to the usual regulatory processes.
It was reported in the summer that Brighton had a deal in place for Gomez to move to the Premier League club, and Sky Sports News claim that the final details on the transfer have since been agreed between the player and his agent after they flew into the United Kingdom.
Brighton have announced that Gomez has agreed to join the club on undisclosed terms, but it is understood that the Seagulls will pay Inter Miami around £11m for the midfielder.
Transfer battle? Man United, Newcastle 'cleared' to push for Bundesliga star
Manchester United and Newcastle United have reportedly been 'cleared' to pursue a transfer for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.
The 24-year-old experienced a slow start at Signal Iduna Park after he joined Dortmund from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023.
However, he has managed to establish himself in the Dortmund team this season, having started each of the last 10 competitive matches.
Nmecha has made a total of 19 appearances for Nuri Sahin's side this term, chipping into their attacking efforts with three goals and two assists.
Arsenal, Liverpool receive Nico Williams transfer boost?
Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams.
The attacker was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer after he impressed for club and country last season.
Williams scored eight goals and provided 19 assists in 37 competitive appearances in 2023-24, helping Athletic win the Copa del Rey and achieve a fifth-placed finish.
The 22-year-old then helped Spain triumph at Euro 2024, scoring two goals and providing an assist in six appearances in Germany.
Not left-back in the changing room: Will Tierney benefit from Arsenal injury crisis?
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that Kieran Tierney could make his first appearance of the season in the Gunners' Champions League clash with Monaco on Wednesday evening.
The left-back has been an unused substitute in Arsenal's last four matches after recovering from a serious hamstring injury, which scuppered his hopes of securing a permanent move elsewhere in the summer transfer window.
Even though Arsenal were missing Oleksandr Zinchenko and Riccardo Calafiori for Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Fulham, Arteta overlooked Tierney again, instead starting Jurrien Timber at left-back and Thomas Partey on the right-hand side.
However, Timber and Partey were both missing from team training on Tuesday, as were Calafiori and Zinchenko, meaning that Arteta may have no choice but to start Tierney or 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly on the left against Monaco.
Liverpool 'could try offering' £8m for Scottish teenager
Liverpool are reportedly open to making a formal bid for Motherwell youngster Lennon Miller.
The Merseyside giants are currently blessed with one of the best squads in world football, as shown by their four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
However, Arne Slot is currently working with a group of players where the youngest player is 21 years of age, highlighting a lack of prospects for the future.
Although that could change in the long term, there is no indication that any such players will be promoted to the senior ranks for the foreseeable future.
Gyokeres fuels Man United speculation with Ronaldo admission
Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres has further hinted that he would like to become a future player of Manchester United.
Gyokeres had already been in free-scoring form for the Portuguese giants before Ruben Amorim left Estadio Jose Alvalade for Old Trafford.
With Amorim now looking to make improvements to his United squad, the Sweden international is continuing to be heavily linked with an eventual switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
Although speculation is rife that United could entertain making an approach in January, any deal is more likely to be negotiated in the summer.
Man City 'plotting swap deal' in bid to sign in-demand Bundesliga winner
Manchester City could reportedly consider including some players as makeweights in a bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
Widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Europe, Wirtz has developed into an integral first-team player at Leverkusen under the tutelage of head coach Xabi Alonso.
The attacking midfielder is still only 21 and has already made a total of 174 senior appearances for Leverkusen across all competitions, scoring 51 goals and providing 55 assists.
Wirtz was named 2023-24 Bundesliga Player of the Season after recording 11 goals and 12 assists in 32 league games to help Leverkusen with their first-ever German top-flight title and go the entire campaign unbeaten.
'Maybe he should have left a year ago': Walker's Man City decline analysed
Manchester City expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany has questioned whether the Citizens should have parted ways with captain Kyle Walker 12 months ago.
The 34-year-old, who has recently been linked with a return to Sheffield United, admitted that he came "close" to joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 shortly before opting to put pen to paper on a contract extension, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2026.
Walker, widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in world football during the prime years of his career, has played a significant role in Man City's success since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, making 314 appearances in all competitions and winning 17 trophies.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd receive Vlahovic transfer boost ahead of January window?
Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The 24-year-old was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe when he excelled at Fiorentina between 2018 and 2022, and it was Juventus who forked out an initial €70m to win the race for his signature.
Vlahovic has struggled with injuries during his time in Turin, but he has still managed to recorded 50 goals and 11 assists in 118 appearances for Juve across all competitions.
The Serbia international, who has netted nine times in 17 games so far this season, is under contract at Juventus until June 2026, but speculation over his long-term future at the club has surfaced ahead of the January transfer window.
Real Madrid, Man United learn Theo Hernandez asking price?
Real Madrid and Manchester United are among a number of clubs who have discovered the asking price of AC Milan captain Theo Hernandez, according to a report.
Hernandez left Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 to join Milan for around €20m and he has since established himself and an integral first-team player at San Siro.
The 27-year-old has made a total of 230 appearances for the Rossoneri across all competitions, recording 31 goals and 41 assists as a left-back, and won the Serie A title in the 2021-22 campaign.
Hernandez has played 17 times in all tournaments for Milan so far this term, but he has struggled to show his best form for Paulo Fonseca's side, who are currently down in seventh place in the Serie A standings and are 14 points behind leaders Atalanta BC.
'Open to top offers': Reason why Man Utd could sell Rashford in January 'revealed'
Manchester United will reportedly consider selling Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window if they receive 'top offers' for the attacker.
Rashford, who has spent his entire career with the Red Devils since joining the club's academy at the age of seven, has made a total of 425 senior appearances, recording 138 goals and 67 assists, and has won five major trophies including two FA Cups and one Europa League.
However, the 27-year-old has struggled to recapture the form that saw him score a career-best 30 goals for Man United in the 2022-23 campaign.
Once regarded as one of the brightest talents in England, Rashford only notched up eight goals and five assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season, and has since chipped in with seven goals and three assists in 23 games this term for a Man United side down in 13th in the Premier League table.
A no-brainer? Liverpool 'among five teams' chasing keen £20.7m defender
Liverpool are reportedly one of a number of teams running the rule over Bologna defender Sam Beukema amid uncertainty over a few of their defenders.
Ibrahima Konate is expected to sign a new deal at Anfield imminently, and there have also been claims that Virgil van Dijk has agreed to extend his Liverpool contract beyond the summer of 2025.
However, Liverpool could see a handful of other centre-backs depart at the end of the season, as Joe Gomez was heavily linked with an exit over the summer and could try to engineer an exit if Arne Slot cannot guarantee him regular starts over Konate.
Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips - on loan at Morecambe and Derby County respectively - are also likely to depart permanently when their temporary deals come to an end, having failed to become established first-team stars despite shining in the 2020-21 campaign.
Do not do as I say? Liverpool stars urged to pen new deals by teammate
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is hopeful that Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold will all sign new contracts at Anfield.
Time is running out for the Reds hierarchy to agree renewals with the high-profile trio before they can enter talks over a pre-contract deal with foreign clubs during the January transfer window.
Liverpool are believed to have accelerated their efforts to keep Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold in recent days, though, as it was reported over the weekend that the former has finally been offered his a renewal.
Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are also said to have been presented with extension offers, and while the former has apparently already agreed to stay put, Alexander-Arnold's situation is complicated by Real Madrid's long-standing interest.
