Mikel Arteta: 'We deserved the win'

Arsenal's Mikel Arteta says that his side were worthy winners against Everton in the FA Cup.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has claimed that his side were well worth their 4-1 win against Everton this afternoon.

The Spaniard scored a 68th-minute penalty to make it 2-1 before Olivier Giroud's quick-fire double gave the scoreline a flattering look.

However, Arteta believes that the Gunners more than deserved the win that takes them to the FA Cup semi-finals.

He told ITV Sport: "I think overall, we dominated that the game and had the better chances. Everton are a very good side when they break and counter you.

"Overall though, we're happy to be on the winning side and we deserved it. You have to keep your concentration [when taking a penalty] and you need those levels high, and I tried to see what the keeper was doing.

"An FA Cup win would be amazing, and we have a big chance to do that now."

The semi-final will be played at Wembley.
