Half-Time Report: Everton recover after early Mesut Ozil goal

Everton recover from an early Mesut Ozil goal to make the scores level at half time against Arsenal.

Everton are level with Arsenal in their FA Cup sixth-round tie, having fought back from a goal down to 1-1.

Romelu Lukaku got the visitors back on level terms after an early goal from Mesut Ozil had put Arsenal in control.

After a frantic start to the game, Arsenal took an early lead when Santi Cazorla capitalised on a slip by James McCarthy to slide the ball through for Ozil, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Everton recovered well with Ross Barkley getting more involved before Kevin Mirallas broke free on the right and cut the ball back to Steven Pienaar. The South African went down under a clumsy challenge from Bacary Sagna although there were few appeals from the visitors.

Joel Robles in the Everton goal then had a couple of shaky moments, punching the ball under no pressure before diverting an effort that was going wide on to his own post.

Shortly afterwards though, the Toffees were level. Barkley produced a run from his own half before chipping the ball to the back post where Mirallas somehow missed the target, but Lukaku was on hand to tap in the equaliser.

The match burst back into life following the goal as Robles saved well from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before Mirallas shot straight at the goalkeeper with Lukaku free inside the box.

Arsenal continued to push forward but failed to take the lead before the break.
