Live Commentary: Wimbledon day six - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live updates from day six of the Wimbledon Championships in London.

Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary from the sixth day of the 126th Wimbledon Championships in London.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer battled through their respective third-round ties on Friday, while Sam Querrey edged past Milos Raonic to book a spot in the third round.

Women's world number one Maria Sharapova also secured her route into round four on Friday, but British hope Heather Watson was defeated by Agniezka Radwanska.

Today, David Ferrer and a certain Andy Murray are in action, along with Serena Williams and last year's women's champion Petra Kvitova.

Note that play gets underway at 11.30am.

23.13Phew. I feel like I've been saying this at the end of every day of these Championships but it's been another thrilling day of action at SW19.

Unfortunately there's no action tomorrow as the players are afforded a much-needed day of rest but we'll be back on Monday as the last-16 ties get underway.

We hope that you've enjoyed our company this evening as much as we've enjoyed yours and hope to see you again on Monday for what promises a truly exciting week at the All England Club. Have a good evening and Goodnight!

23.09More from Murray: 'It was a tricky first week, I had a tough draw. Today was a different match than against Karlovic.'

On Nadal defeat: 'As a player you're aware of what happens around you. It's silly for me to think that I'm guaranteed a place in the final.'

23.07Murray: 'The momentum was kind of going with him but I struck the ball better under the roof.

'I was glad that we were allowed a few more minutes. I'm not sure what the rules are, I'm guessing that's the first time that's happened here.

'My knee was a little bit sore, I had the physio look at it and had some strapping on it.'

23.05The British number four seed will now take on Croatia's Marin Cilic for a place in the quarter-finals.

23.04Incredible, just incredible. It looked like this one was going to be finished on Monday, but Andy Murray wraps it up against Marcos Baghdatis in the nick of time.

23.03GAME, SET AND MATCH! Murray 7-5 3-6 7-5 6-1 Baghdatis

23.01Murray has three match points...

23.00And he takes it! Murray leads 5-1 and will be given enough time to serve out the match! Unbelievable stuff!

22.59Now then, Murray has two break points...

22.56It's getting so tense out there, but Murray just about manages to hold and goes 4-1 in front.

22.52However, Baghdatis is still fighting and holds for the first time in the set. It's 3-1 to Murray.

22.49Magnificent from Murray as he consolidates the break with a hold to love. He looks on course for the fourth round...

22.47Oh my word! Baghdatis serves a double-fault and Murray has the break. The Brit leads 2-0 in this fourth set.

22.43...but Baghdatis fizzes in a wicked serve to force deuce.

22.43Murray brings up the break point with an outrageous forehand return...

22.40It's a storming start to the fourth for Murray. He slams an ace down the line to take a 1-0 lead. We've got 20 minutes of play left tonight.

22.34Which he takes wonderfully as his backhand flies down the line. The Brit now leads by two sets to one. Incredible stuff.

22.33Now Murray has a set point thanks to a Baghdatis error...

22.30And he holds as Baghdatis puts his forehand wide. That wasa bizarre game to say the least. The pocket incident could have cost the Scot dearly. But it hasn't and it's 6-5 Murray.

22.27But Murray saves with a stinging serve. Deuce.

22.26Baghdatis now has the chance of a break point...

22.26A ball falls out of Murray's point AGAIN and Baghdatis is given the point. It's 30-30. I thought Murray had deep pockets.

22.23That was a huge game to win for Baghdatis and he did, just. Despite going to deuce, he wins the game with a ridiculous overhead smash.

22.18The fourth seed has been a different person since midway through this set. As if someone suddenly flicked a switch, he's being far more positive out there.

22.17It's all Murray now as he holds to love for the first time. Baghdatis will serve to stay in the set.

22.14And Murray gets the break! Centre Court goes bonkers as Baghdatis can't get his volley over the net. It's 4-4!

22.13Now it's Murray who's finding some inspiration from somewhere as he brings up two break points.

22.10We've just had confirmation that this match will finish at 11pm, even if the result has not been decided. That means we have 50 more minutes today at SW19.

22.09A couple of unforced errors from Baghdatis sees Murray hold. It's now 4-3 to the Cypriot.

22.05And the former semi-finalist holds with a sensational forehand down the line. That was inspired.

22.04It's advantage Baghdatis with a delicious backhand winner past an approaching Murray.

22.03...but a frustrated Murray squanders it with a poor backhand that hits the net.

22.02Murray has a break point...

21.58Baghdatis gets the break! A long rally comes to an end as the Cypriot launches a backhand winner down the line. He now leads 3-2 and is on serve.

21.56Oh dear. Some lose play from Murray hands Baghdatis three break points.

21.54The Centre Court crowd groans as Murray fails to return a serve and concedes the game to Baghdatis.

21.54But Baghdatis busts a gut to save both of them. Deuce.

21.52Murray does well to keep alive a Baghdatis smash and he now has two break points.

21.50The Brit is wincing as he slips again. However. he doesn't mind as he takes the opening point on the Baghdatis serve.

21.49Murray showing plenty of positivity in these opening games as he holds again to lead 2-1.

21.46It was 0-30 on the Baghdatis serve, but the world number 28 digs in to hold.

21.42The Centre Court crowd have clearly had time to sink a few during the break as they erupt as Murray holds serve with an ace.

21.40There's some strapping on Murray's left knee as the players warm-up again. It'll be the fourth seed to get this third set underway.

21.34The match referee has apparently said that they will pull the players off at 11pm for the scheduled curfew UNLESS they receive special permission to continue...

21.32The players are coming back out on Centre Court...

21.29Marin Cilic must be hoping for a Marcos Baghdatis win here as the Croat leads 2-1 against the Cypriot in their previous encounters. In contrast, he's only won once in six encounters with Andy Murray.

21.22Looking at the mammoth Cilic/Querrey encounter, at five hours and 36 minutes it is the second-longest match ever played at the All England Club behind Nicolas Mahut and John Isner's epic in 2010.

21.20Okay, what we can take from those opening two sets? Andy Murray is certainly being stifled out there by Marcos Baghdatis as the Cypriot looks typically full of beans. The Brit was getting frustrated in that second set and I'm sure that Ivan Lendl will be putting him straight in the locker room.

21.13We'll be back in five...

21.11Right, the roof is slowly making it's way across Centre Court. However, we'll have to wait an additional 30 minutes as they sort the air out inside the famous arena. The temperature needs to be moderated due the grass sweating if it's too hot in their and we don't want that because the players will slip (even more).

21.08Questions have been raised over whether this match will be concluded tonight. Play is not allowed to go on past 11pm and it looks like there's a lot of tennis left in this one.

21.07And what about Marin Cilic's win over Sam Querrey? It was difficult to see where that one was going to end but the Croatian finally found the decisive break before sealing victory. The 16th seed will take on either Murray or Baghdatis in the next round.

21.05Ruthless from Baghdatis as an ace gives him the second set. They're now closing the roof on Centre Court in order to continue this match. It looks like we're having a third thriller in three nights at SW19!

21.04SET! Murray 7-5 3-6 Baghdatis

21.03GAME, SET AND MATCH! Cilic 7-6[6] 6-4 6-7[2] 6-7[3] 17-15 Querrey

21.00A deft volley gives Murray the hold so Baghdatis will serve for this second set.

20.58A ball falls out of Murray's pocket once more but this time it doesn't go his way and Baghdatis has the point. The rules says that it's allowed to happen once, but not twice.

20.56The Cypriot saves the break point and holds to lead 5-2 here in the second set.

20.54Murray slips for a third time, but Baghdatis fluffs his drop shot and the Brit has a break point.

20.53Still no news on if/when the roof is going to close on Centre Court but we'll let you know as soon as we get any information.

20.51Which he takes with aplomb. Some aggressive play there from the world number 28. He now leads 4-2.

20.50Very is the answer, because Baghdatis has the chance of a break point.

20.46Baghdatis eventually holds and the Cypriot leads 3-2. How important could that be?

20.45Some huge news in the mixed doubles as Britain's Laura Robson and Dominic Inglot have beaten defending champions Jurgen Melzer and Iveta Benesova in three sets. What a result that is. Meanwhile, we're still at deuce between Murray and Baghdatis.

20.39Murray swipes at the ground in frustration as he hits the net with a backhand. Deuce.

20.38...but Baghdatis saves two of them.

20.37This match just gets more unpredictable. Murray now has three break points...

20.35Oh dear. Murray double-faults and gives Baghdatis the break back. We're at 2-2 in this increasingly-tense second set.

20.34Interesting times on Centre Court as a ball falls out of Murray's pocket before he whacks a forehand out. We have a replayed point and Baghdatis hits wide to pull it back to deuce. Strange stuff.

20.33The Brit slips again as Baghdatis moves onto break point with a smash at the net. To his credit, Murray tried to hit the ball while he was lying on the ground.

20.32It's at deuce on the Murray serve...

20.28UPDATE: Sam Querrey now leads Marin Cilic 12-11 in their epic encounter.

20.27Murray breaks! Baghdatis risks it by coming into the net but gets his volley all wrong. Murray leads 2-1 in the second.

20.26And he saves the second with a fierce forehand following a lengthy rally. Deuce.

20.24Baghdatis saves the first with excellent defensive work.

20.23A long backhand from Baghdatis brings up two break points for the Brit...

20.22Some great attritional play from Murray there forces Baghdatis into the error and makes it 0-30.

20.21Baghdatis puts up a fight but Murray digs in to hold.

20.18Darkness looks to be descending on Centre Court. Are we going to have the (controversial) roof deployed soon?

20.16A solid start from Baghdatis to this second set as he holds to love.

20.14To update elsewhere, Sam Querrey currently leads Marin Cilic 10-9 in the final set of their contest.

20.13Not the most dynamic display from Murray but he closes out the first set with an ace.

20.12SET! Murray 7-5 Baghdatis

20.12Some excellent serve-volleying brings up two set points for Murray.

20.08He does! (eventually). Baghdatis slices wide and Murray will serve for this opening set.

20.06An error from Baghdatis hands the Brit a break point. Can he capitalise?

20.05An opportunity opens for Murray as he forces deuce on the Baghdatis serve.

20.01...which he does with ease. It's 5-5.

19.59Murray serving to stay in this opening set...

19.57Murray leaves it too late to challenge a Baghdatis forehand and the world number 28 leads 5-4 in the first. Murray's having a word with the umpire, who is nodding politely.

19.56An excellent rally from both men ends with Baghdatis dropping a volley just over the net before a poor forehand pulls it back to deuce. Some decent rallies being played now.

19.54The Cypriot can't keep his forehand in and we're at deuce.

19.50Nerve-jangling stuff there from Murray, but the fourth seed manages to hold to make it 4-4. That was a wasted chance for Baghdatis.

19.47Murray brings it to deuce as his scooped forehand just creeps inside the baseline.

19.45Two break points for Baghdatis...

19.44Murray hits long and it's 0-30. Chance for Baghdatis?

19.41Another riveting game sees Baghdatis eventually hold through a Murray error. Neither man looks like being broken anytime soon. It's 4-3.

19.39Ouch. Murray slips at the baseline as he finds the net with a forehand. He seems to be okay.

19.37A delightful volley at the net puts Baghdatis 30-15 up on the Murray serve, but the Scot rallies to hold.

19.34Let's remember that Baghdatis has reached the semis here. Unfortunately he came up against eventual runner-up Rafael Nadal in 2006 and went down in straight sets.

19.33The Cypriot keeps it on serve here as Murray whacks a backhand into the net.

19.31A delightful poke at the net puts Baghdatis 30-0 ahead.

19.30A slight scare for Murray there, but a poor backhand from Baghdatis levels it up at 2-2.

19.29We're at deuce on the Murray serve as the Brit flicks a forehand wide...

19.23No signs of the flamboyance that have come to define the Cypriot yet but he holds to go back in front. There's still time.

19.20Baghdatis slams his forehand into the net following a sliced backhand from Murray and it's 1-1.

19.16An entertaining first game ends with Baghdatis edging it thanks to a misjudged lob from Murray.

19.12Here we go then, Baghdatis to serve...

19.10Murray and Baghdatis have met at SW19 before but it didn't end well for the fuzzy-haired Scot as he was beaten in straight sets at this same stage in 2006.

19.05UPDATE: There's more disappointment for Heather Watson as she is knocked out of the mixed doubles with fellow Brit Ross Hutchins. The pair have lost in three sets to Nenad Zimonjic and Katarina Srebotnik.

19.03There's been little to seperate Murray and Baghdatis in their previous encounters. They're level at 3-3 in the six times that they've met each other, with Murray winning their last encounter in Tokyo at the end of last year.

19.00There's plenty of talk floating around that Andy Roddick will retire after the US Open. He certainly gave the Centre Court crowd a big goodbye when he walked off the court there. Let's hope that he decides to keep going.

18.57Anyway, we hope that you're able to stay with us now as Britain's Andy Murray takes on flamboyant Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis on Centre Court. The players are due out in a few minutes.

18.57Sam Querrey making a real fist of it in his match against Marin Cilic. The American was two sets down but he's levelled it up to force a decider.

18.56SET! Cilic 7-6[6] 6-4 6-7[2] 6-7[3] Querrey

18.55Also, David Ferrer has never got past the fourth round at SW19 so he will most certainly be looking to change that against the Argentine.

18.54Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is also through to the fourth round after seeing off Lukas Lacko in straight sets on Court One. The Frenchman will now face number 10 seed Mardy Fish.

18.53Ferrer: 'I'm very happy, I was very consistent.

'Always when I play with Juan Martin [Del Potro] it's a very tough match.'

18.51The American finds the net and Ferrer is through to the fourth round. If he was worried after losing that first set he certainly didn't show it as 'The Wall' put in a typically dogged display from the baseline. He will now meet Juan Martin Del Potro. What a match that could be.

18.49GAME, SET AND MATCH! Ferrer 2-6 7-6[8] 6-4 6-3 Roddick

18.48Roddick can't keep the ball in and Ferrer has a match point...

18.48GAME, SET AND MATCH! Tsonga 6-4 6-3 6-3 Lacko

18.45All to easy from Ferrer as he holds to love. Roddick is now serving to stay in the Championships.

18.43Which he takes brilliantly! Ferrer whacks a backhand straight past Roddick to take a 4-3 lead in the third set. The American challenged his own serve in the hope that it was out, but replays showed that it was in. Ferrer is now just two games from a place in the fourth round.

18.41A superb forehand from Ferrer gives the Spaniard the chance of a break point...

18.39Some pinpoint serving from Ferrer sees him hold to level this one up at 3-3. Are we heading for a second tie-break of the match?

18.37Ferrer won the last contest between these two in Shanghai by two sets to one in October of last year. The Spaniard has also come out on top in six of their 10 previous meetings.

18.35The umpire's head is nearly taken off with a wayward Ferrer return before the ball goes dead and Roddick holds.

18.32The Spaniard is given a slice of luck as his low forehand clips the net and goes over to make it 2-2.

18.30Ferrer has the chance to close out his service game, but he fires wide and we're at deuce. Chance for Roddick?

18.25That meaty Roddick serve comes to the rescue again as the American holds. However, he was clutching his ribs after one point in that game. Possible problem? He looks to be okay.

18.22No sign of letting up from Ferrer as he holds to love to make it 1-1.

18.21It looks like Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is on course for victory over Lukas Lacko on Court One. The winner of that contest will meet Mardy Fish for a place in the quarter-finals.

18.20SET! Tsonga 6-4 6-3 Lacko

18.19He looked to have let Ferrer in with the sniff of a break there but an ace sees Roddick hold to take the lead.

18.16Andy Roddick will get this fourth set underway...

18.16Just a reminder that the winner of this match will face Juan Martin Del Potro in the fourth round after the former US Open champion overcame Kei Nishikori in straight sets earlier today.

18.14David Ferrer is in a determined mood out there now as he brushes Roddick aside to hold serve and take this third set. Despite suffering an early setback, the Spaniard is surely the favourite to go on and win this one now. However, a rejuevenated Roddick will have a lot to say about that.

18.13SET! Ferrer 2-6 7-6[8] 6-4 Roddick

18.10Roddick holds to cut the deficit, but Ferrer wil serve for this third set.

18.08Ferrer consolidates his break with a love service game as Roddick puts his forehand long. It's now 5-3 to the number seven seed.

18.07UPDATE: Heather Watson and Ross Hutchins's mixed doubles match will go to a third set after Zimonjic and Srebotnik take the second 6-4.

18.05Ferrer breaks! He squandered two break points but was gifted the third thanks to Roddick's backhand which goes long. The Spaniard leads 4-3.

18.01It looked touch and go for a moment there but Ferrer holds to level this third set at 3-3.

18.00SET! Cilic 7-6[6] 6-4 6-7[2] Querrey

17.58Right, that's where I leave you. I shall hand you over to my colleague Jack Prescott for the remainder of the day's action. Stay with us!

17.56Impressive hold from Roddick as he moves 3-2 ahead in the third. Who will blink first in this set?

17.54Just a reminder that we still have a certain Mr Murray to come this evening at around 7pm. Meanwhile, Cilic and Querrey has indeed entered a tie-break in the third.

17.52Roddick staves off the Ferrer pressure to move 2-1 ahead in the third set.

17.50Meanwhile, Cilic will serve to take the third set against Querrey into a tie-break. The Croatian leads two-sets-to-nil.

17.48... but he cannot take it as Roddick comes to the net to level it at deuce.

17.48Twice Roddick hits the net to hand Ferrer the chance to break...

17.46SET! Tsonga has taken the opening set 6-4 against Lacko. Meanwhile, Ferrer holds to level it at 1-1 in the third.

17.44Brilliant opening service game to the third by Roddick as he holds to love. Meanwhile, Tsonga will serve for the first set against Lacko.

17.42RESULT: Fish 6-3 7-6 7-6 Goffin

17.40Meanwhile, Fish is just two points away from a spot in the fourth round.

17.38SET! Ferrer claims the tie-break 10-8 to level the match at one-set-all.

17.38But again the American loses both points on the Ferrer serve. 8-9.

17.36Brilliant recovery from Roddick as he trails by one before levelling it at 7-7 with a forehand smash.

17.34However, he rattles the net as we sit at 6-6.

17.34Powerful second serve from Roddick as he moves 6-5 ahead.

17.34Just a 133mph serve for Roddick as he moves 4-3 ahead. However, it's fine hands from Ferrer at the net as he levels it at 4-4.

17.32Meanwhile, Tsonga has moved a break ahead of Lacko in the opening set.

17.32Talking of tie-breaks - Goffin and Fish has entered one in the third.

17.30Four points and still no separating the two. 2-2.

17.28Roddick hits the net to hand Ferrer a 1-0 lead. However, Ferrer follows suit as the American levels it at 1-1.

17.28Meanwhile, Goffin will serve to stay in the match against Fish.

17.26Roddick responds with an equally good hold. As predicted, this one heads for a tie-break.

17.24Wonderful lob from Ferrer as he holds to love. The Spaniard leads 6-5 in the second set.

17.22Meanwhile, here's a word from Serena Williams following her win this afternoon: "It was good to win there. It was a tough match. I was happy to get through it. We always have unbelievable matches together. I knew it was going to be tough. In the third set, I thought: 'If I'm going to go out, I'm going to go out with a bang.' You know how I do it. I was just fighting for everything out there," she told the BBC.

17.20You can just sense that this one is heading for a tie-break in the second. Ferrer has certainly recovered from the shock of the opening set. Meanwhile, Cilic and Querrey remains on serve in the third.

17.18Good hold to love from Ferrer as he takes a 5-4 lead in the second.

17.16It's another hold for Roddick as he moves level at 4-4. Meanwhile, Lacko holds serve in the opening game against Tsonga.

17.14The weather has been ever so kind to us today hasn't it! What a glorious day in London.

17.12Another match is in progress with Tsonga taking on Lacko. Remember, we still have Murray to come later today.

17.10Ferrer staves off two break points to lead 4-3 in the second. However, the Frenchman is certainly not comfortable on this surface.

17.08Men's latest scores: Goffin 3-6 6-7 2-3 Fish, Cilic 7-6 6-4 0-0 Querrey, Ferrer 2-6 4-3 Roddick.

17.06SET! Cilic has taken the second set against Querrey. The Croatian leads two-sets-to-nil.

17.04Roddick secures his third straight game to level it at 3-3 in the second. He is showing the kind of form that made him world number one in the past.

17.02Meanwhile, Cilic will serve for the second set against Querrey.

17.00Roddick breaks back! Brilliant from the American as gets this one back on serve in the second.

16.58We join the match at 3-1 Ferrer in the second - with Roddick one-set-to-nil ahead.

16.56Let's focus our attention on the enthralling encounter between Ferrer and Roddick.

16.54Meanwhile, Cilic has moved a break ahead of Querrey in the second set.

16.52Some performance from Del Potro as he books his spot in the fourth round. Really good showing from the Argentine.

16.52RESULT: Del Potro 6-3 7-6 6-1 Nishikori

16.50Oh how quickly tennis can change - Ferrer is up an early break against Roddick in the second set.

16.48Break Del Potro! The Argentine breaks to move 5-1 ahead. He will serve for the match.

16.46SET! Fish has taken the second set 7-6 against Goffin to open up a two-sets-to-nil lead.

16.44Again it's brilliant from Del Potro as he produces a beautiful drop shot before releasing a passing shot to move 4-1 ahead. He is just two games away from the fourth round.

16.42Meanwhile, Ferrer really is finding it tough against Roddick. The pair remain locked at deuce in the opening game of the second set.

16.40Important hold for Nishikori as he moves 3-1 behind Del Potro in the third.

16.38Del Potro really has looked in wonderful form in this one. We know all about his power. However, it has been his control that has impressed the most.

16.36Goffin and Fish has entered a tie-break in the second set - with the latter leading one-set-to-nil.

16.34SET! Roddick has taken the opening set 6-2 against Ferrer. Meanwhile, Del Potro holds to lead 3-0 in the third.

16.32Del Potro breaks! The Argentine takes a 2-0 lead in the third. He is well on his way now.

16.32What has Roddick had for breakfast? The American has stormed into a 5-2 lead over Ferrer in the opening set.

16.30Looking ahead to the rest of the men's action - and we have two fantastic matches to come. Tsonga takes on Lacko. Meanwhile, Murray hosts Baghdatis.

16.28SET! Cilic secures the tie-break to open up a one-set lead over Querrey.

16.26Men's latest scores: Nihikori 3-6 6-7 0-1 Del Potro, Goffin 3-6 5-4 Fish, Cilic 6-6 Querrey, Ferrer 1-4 Roddick.

16.24That's the end of the day's action for the women. Ivanovic, Paszek, Schiavone, Kvitova, Williams, Azarenka, Shvedova and Vinci have all booked their spot in the next round.

16.22RESULT: Vinci 7-6 7-6 Lucic

16.22Del Potro holds. That was a chance missed for Nishikori.

16.20Del Potro hits another powerful serve against Nishikori as the pair remain locked at deuce for the fourth time in the opening game of the third.

16.18Cilic and Querrey has also entered a tie-break in the opening set. There has been a host of them today!

16.16Vinci vs. Lucic has indeed entered a tie-break in the second. Meanwhile, Roddick leads Ferrer 2-0 early in proceedings.

16.14Perfect start for Roddick as he moves up an early break. Meanwhile, Lucic will serve to take the second set against Vinci into a tie-break.

16.12Another men's match is underway with Ferrer taking on Roddick.

16.12Meanwhile, Police have today confirmed that a hawk belonging to Wimbledon has been stolen. Not a very nice story to report. The full details can be found here.

16.10Meanwhile, Fish leads Goffin one-set-to-nil and 2-2 in the second - and Cilic and Querrey remain tied at 5-5 in the opening set.

16.10Right let's have a little look about. Just the one women's match to conclude today with Vinci leading 7-5 5-5 against Lucic.

16.08SET! Del Potro serves the tie-break out to move two-sets-to-nil ahead. It's an long way back for Nishikori.

16.06Absolute rocket from Del Potro as he takes a 3-5 lead in the tie-break. Can the Argentine close it out?

16.04Meanwhile, Cilic and Querrey remains on serve at 5-4 in the opening set.

16.04Del Potro cuts it back to 2-2 with two passing shots. However, Nishikori comes to the net to move 3-2 ahead.

16.02And it's Nishikori who opens up a 2-0 lead.

16.00Thanks Liam! Just as I join you - the match between Nishikori and Del Potro has entered a tie-break in the second set.

15.58That's as far as I go. Matt is back to take you through the remainder of this match and beyond. Enjoy!

15.57Again some great character from Nishikori. He survives two break points to open up a 6-5 advantage. Del Potro will now serve to stay in this second set.

15.56Result: Williams 6-7 6-2 9-7 Zheng

15.55...But he hits long and we're back to deuce.

15.55Deuce, but there's now another break point for the Argentine...

15.53Break point Del Potro! Big moment in the context of this match...

15.53SET! It has taken Fish long to open up a one-set lead. One break of the Goffin serve was all the was required for a 6-3 success.

15.50Good hold from Del Potro. He's steadied the ship! 5-5 in the second set.

15.49Fish has also broken against Goffin. The American is now on the cusp of winning the opening set with a lead of 5-2.

15.48Williams breaks! She now leads 8-7 in the decider and is serving for the match.

15.46And it could soon be a set for Nishikori. He holds his serve, which means that Del Potro is now serving to stay in the set at 5-4 to the Japanese number one.

15.45SET! Vinci runs out a 7-4 victor in a tie-breaker during her opening set against Lucic.

15.44There has also been an early break of serve between Querrey and Cilic as the former opens up a 3-1 lead in the first.

15.43And he makes it! Superb character from Nishikori, who has levelled the second set with Del Potro to 4-4.

15.42Break point Nishikori. Where has this come from?!

15.41We are now at 7 all between Williams and Zheng. Whose going to blink first?!

15.37Hold! Nishikori brings the second back to 4-3 in Del Potro's favour. Still fancy the Argentine to win this one.

15.36Also, Querrey and Cilic have begun their match. The winner could potentially meet Andy Murray in round four.

15.36Meanwhile, there is a decent match going on between Williams and Zheng. The pair are locked in the decider at six games apiece.

15.34...and the Argentine breaks yet again! It's now 4-1 Del Potro and this is all too easy for him at the moment.

15.33Make that break point Del Potro...

15.32It is such hard work for Nishikori to hold his serve every time. It is currently 30 all, with Del Potro leading 3-1 in the second.

15.27Credit to Nishikori, who holds to reduce the arrears to 3-2 in favour of Del Potro.

15.25While Belgium's David Goffin is underway against Mardy Fish.

15.25Serena Williams is now serving to stay in the match against China's Zheng at 5-4 down.

15.25Game Del Potro! Comfortable in the end. He now leads 3-1 in the second.

15.24And a great touch from Del Potro at the net brings up game point for the Argentinian.

15.23But he hits long without any pressure for Del Potro to level the game up at 30 apiece.

15.2315-30 to Nishikori. He really has to take these sort of chances.

15.22Make that 15-15.

15.220-15 in favour of Nishikori. Chance for the Japanese player maybe?

15.19...and with a superb lob the Argentine makes the break! He now leads 2-1, with his service game to come.

15.18Break point Del Potro...

15.18It's deuce again on the Nishikori serve. You get the impression Del Potro will be breaking sooner rather than later.

15.15Elsewhere at SW19, Williams and Zheng are locked at three games each in their decider.

15.13Del Potro holds to level up the second set at one game apiece.

15.12Result: Cepelova 3-6 3-6 Azarenka

15.11Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash talking about Nishikori on BBC Sport: "There was not a lot Kei Nishikori could do in that opening set against Del Potro. But he could do with getting in a higher percentage of first serves and not letting Del Potro get on top of those rallies. Then it's a case of hoping for the best against the Del Potro serve."

15.09That's some great character from Nishikori. He fights off break points to claim the opening game of the second set.

15.08Back on Court Number One Nishikori is having trouble holding his serve. Del Potro has twice had break points, but the Japanese player is battling hard. Level at deuce.

15.06Bit of a shock in the women's draw there as number ten seed Errani goes crashing out before week two!

15.06Result: Shvedova 6-0 6-4 Errani.

15.03Cheers Law man! Well, well, well - what a good start for Del Potro here. The Argentinian is looking every bit the player who once broke into the world's top four. Can Nishikori respond?

15.00Right, that's me for now. I shall hand you over to the hopelessly devoted Liam Apicella for the next hour of action. See you soon!

14.58SET! Del Potro holds his serve to secure the opening set 6-3.

14.56Hold to love for Nishikori as he continues to hang on in the opener. However, Del Potro can close it out on serve.

14.54Another hold of serve for Del Potro as he opens up a 5-2 lead in the opening set. It's been really impressive from the 2009 US Open champion.

14.52Let's have a little look at the women's matches in play. Vinci is up an early break against Lucic. Meanwhile, Shvedova and Errani remains on serve at 4-3 in the second.

14.50So there we have it. The man who put Nadal out of Wimbledon has fallen at the very next hurdle. Disappointing for the Czech. Meanwhile, Nishikori holds to move 4-2 behind Del Potro.

14.50RESULT: Kohlschreiber 6-2 6-3 7-6 Rosol

14.48Meanwhile, Del Potro has held serve to open up a 4-1 lead over Nishikori.

14.46SET! Williams has taken the second set 6-2 against Zheng.

14.44Williams has taken control of the second set against Zheng. The American will serve to level it at one-set-all.

14.43Meanwhile, Nishikori is off the mark against Del Potro as he holds to trail 1-3.

14.40The final women's match of today is underway with Vinci taking on Lucic. Meanwhile, Williams is up a break in the second against Zheng.

14.40Meanwhile, Del Potro holds to open up a 3-0 lead in the opening set after 15 minutes.

14.38Here's a word from Petra Kvitova following her victory earlier today: "I'm feeling better with every match I play here. The third round today was much better than the first round. I'm so happy that I played well today, and I'm glad that I made so few unforced errors. For the last two years, I've played so well here. I feel very confident on the court and my serve can help me," she told the BBC.

14.38Del Potro breaks! Good start from the Argentine as he moves 2-0 ahead in the opening set. Meanwhile, Rosol has levelled it at 5-5 with Kohlschreiber in the third.

14.36Brilliant from Nishikori as he staves off yet another break point against Del Potro. We sit at deuce. Fantastic tennis.

14.34Meanwhile, Kohlschreiber has taken a 5-4 lead in the third set against Rosol. The latter must serve to stay in the match.

14.32Really good opening to this match as Del Potro releases a wonderful passing forehand. This one has the makings of a real classic. 30-30 on the Nishikori serve.

14.30Ah, the unpredictability of women's tennis continues. Errani loses the opening set 6-0 against Shvedova. However, she moves a break ahead in the second.

14.28Strong early start from Del Potro as he holds to lead 1-0 in the opening set.

14.28SET! Azarenka has taken the opening set 6-3 against Cepelova.

14.26Here we go then. Nishikori vs. Del Potro is underway. The Argentine will serve first.

14.24SET! Shvedova has taken the opening set 6-0 against Errani. Incredible.

14.17Williams and Zheng remain tied at 5-5 in their opening set tie-break. Meanwhile, Cepelova has recovered against Azarenka to tie it at 3-3 in the opening set.

14.15Meanwhile, Del Potro's match with Nishikori will soon get underway.

14.13Shvedova has taken control of the early stages against Errani. She leads 2-0. However, you would have to expect her to respond.

14.11However, Paszek breaks straight back to level it at 5-5. This one could go on all night! Meanwhile, Williams vs. Zheng has entered a tie-break in the opening set.

14.10Meanwhile, Wickmayer has broken Paszek. The Belgian will serve for the match.

14.08Another women's match is underway with Shvedova taking on Errani.

14.06Meanwhile, Azarenka is up an early break against Cepelova and Williams and Zheng remains on serve at 6-5.

14.04Kvitova books her spot in the fourth round after less than an hour of tennis. Some performance from last year's champion.

14.04RESULT: Kvitova 6-1 6-0 Lepchenko

14.02SET! Kohlschreiber has taken the second set 6-3 against Rosol. The German leads two-sets-to-nil.

14.00Kvitova breaks once more to take a 5-0 lead in the second set. She will serve for a spot in the fourth round.

14.00Another women's match is underway with Cepelova taking on Azarenka.

13.58Meanwhile, it is now 4-0 Kvitova. Not a great match to be honest. No contest!

13.56So there we have it. Baker continues his fine run of form to book a spot in the fourth round. Meanwhile, what has happened to Rosol? I think he might have spent too long celebrating his win over Nadal. The Czech is down a set and a break in the second.

13.54RESULT: Baker 6-4 4-6 6-1 6-3 Paire

13.52It's a really tight encounter between Paszek and Wickmayer. However, the former has moved a break ahead in the third set.

13.50And there's the double break. It's a sorry story for Lepchenko as Kvitova takes a 3-0 lead in the second. Meanwhile, Baker will serve for the match against Paire.

13.50Lepchenko is just struggling to deal with the pure power of Kvitova at the moment. The pair sit at deuce in the third game of the second set.

13.48Far too easy for Kvitova in this one. The Czech leads one-set-to-nil and 2-0 in the second.

13.46Baker holds serve to move 5-2 ahead of Paire in the fourth set. The American is just one game away from a spot in the fourth round.

13.44Kvitova has just moved a break ahead in the second set - having claimed the opener 6-1. Meanwhile, Williams and Zheng remains on serve at 2-2 thus far.

13.34Lepchenko is finally on the board against Kvitova. But it has come far, far too late in the opening set. The Czech will serve for a one-set lead.

13.34Hold to love for Goerges. However, Ivanovic will serve for a spot in the fourth round.

13.32It's now 5-0 Kvitova. I am not too sure if Lepchenko knows exactly where she is.

13.30Easy for Ivanovic as she holds to move 5-3 ahead in the third. Talking of comfortable service games - Williams leads Zheng 1-0.

13.28Serena Williams's match with Zheng is also underway.

13.26Kvitova secures her second break of the opening set to lead Lepchenko 4-0. Meanwhile, Goerges holds to move 4-3 behind Ivanovic.

13.16It's all going Baker's way in the third set with Paire. The American leads 5-1.

13.14But Ivanovic takes the second! The Serbian leads 3-2 on serve in the final set.

13.14... one of three is saved.

13.14Goerges continues to falter on her serve. Ivanovic has three break points...

12.49And she does. However, Ivanovic will serve to level the match at one-set-all.

12.49Meanwhile, Goerges staves off a set point against Ivanovic to level it at deuce. The German must hold here.

12.32Make that 3-0 to Paszek as she secures the double break. That one looks to be heading for a third. Meanwhile, Goerges holds against Ivanovic to level it at 2-2.

12.30Meanwhile, Paszek leads Wickmayer 2-0 in the second set.

12.28Three break points come and go for Ivanovic as Georges levels it at deuce in the fourth game.

12.26And Ivanovic does hold to take a 2-1 lead in the second set. Just a reminder that we still have Murray, Tsonga and Serena Williams to come later this afternoon.

12.24Meanwhile, Zakopalova vs. Schiavone remains on serve in the second set thus far.

12.22Ivanovic hits the net as Goerges levels it at 1-1 in the second. Such an important service game coming up for the Serbian.

12.06We join at 4-2 Georges with the German just securing a break of serve.

12.06Right, we are going to focus on the encounter between Ivanovic and Georges. But have no fear - we will keep you up-to-date with the rest of the action.

12.04Some display from Schiavone thus far. The Italian leads Zakopalova 5-0. She will serve for the opener.

12.00Murray has hit 70 winners to Baghdatis's 55. Meanwhile, the Cypriot has won more return games than the world number four.

11.58Murray and Baghdatis's tournament stats thus far are also quite similiar. Murray has played seven sets to Baghdatis's five. Meanwhile, the pair have both hit 21 aces.

11.56The pair last met in January in Brisbane. It was Murray who secured the victory 6-2 6-2. However, Baghdatis beat the Scot in September of last year.

11.54While we have a moment, let's focus on Murray's match with Baghdatis. The pair have met seven times - with Murray leading 4-3.

11.52Goerges has answered straight back against Ivanovic - another break of serve. Meanwhile, Schiavone leads 3-0 on serve against Zakopalova. I'll let the serve thing go soon I promise!

11.50Remember, there is just one men's match currently in play. Baker and Paire remain tied at 1-1 in the opening set.

11.48Talking of serves. Wickmayer has also secured an early break against Paszek. That's three breaks of serve in all three women's matches currently in progress.

11.46Schiavone has also moved an early break ahead of Zakopalova. Is it just me - or is serving in the women's game no longer an advantage?

11.44Zakopalova and Schiavone is also underway. Meanwhile, Ivanovic has secured an immediate break against Goerges. Fantastic start from the former world number one.

11.42Baker vs. Paire is underway on the men's side of the draw. Meanwhile, Ivanovic vs. Goerges and Paszek vs. Wickmayer has also begun.

11.40A word from Roger Federer on Rafael Nadal's exit on Thursday: "It sent shockwaves through the draw." That it did Roger, that it did. Meanwhile, our early matches are getting underway.

11.38Right, we are moments away from the start of play on day six. We will be bringing you updates from ALL of the action.

11.36Weather update: Strong sunshine is the main phrase I gathered from the BBC. That is good enough for me.

11.34I am really looking forward to the clash between Ferrer and Roddick this afternoon. That one has the makings of a proper classic.

11.32Are we in for any more shocks and surprises today? After what has happened over the past few days, anything is possible.

11.30Former British number one Tim Henman is currently on Court 14 giving advice to a host of youngsters. Let's hope that there is a star among them.

11.28Throw Del Potro and Tsonga into the mix and we have a very exciting day ahead at SW19.

11.26For all the Murray fans out there. The Scot's match with Baghdatis on Centre is due to begin at around 5pm. Henman Hill/Murray Mound will be rocking!

11.24Meanwhile, on the women's side of the draw - Ivanovic vs. Goerges, Paszek vs. Wickmayer and Zakopalova vs. Schiavone get underway at 11.30am.

11.22Just the singular men's match will get underway at 11.30am with Brian Baker facing Benoit Paire.

11.20Back to today's action. James Wards's conqueror Mardy Fish takes on David Goffin in the final match on Court Three. Meanwhile, Nadal's nemesis Lukas Rosol faces Phillip Kohlschreiber in the second match on Court 12.

11.18Weather update: Some rain is expected around 12.30pm. However, throughout the afternoon and into the evening it should be dry. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

11.16In the best of the rest - Jana Cepelova and Victoria Azarenka clash in the second match on Court Two. And Querrey is in action for the second day running against Marin Cilic.

11.14Court One pairs Varvara Lepchenko and Petra Kvitova in the opening match. Meanwhile, Kei Nishikori and Juan Martin Del Potro clash in the second encounter. Play will end on that particular court when Jo-Wilfried Tsonga clashes with Lukas Lacko.

11.12Looking ahead to today's action. Play will begin at 1pm on Centre Court when Serena Williams opens up against Jie Zheng. David Ferrer and Andy Roddick will follow - before Marcos Baghdatis entertains Murray.

11.10However, yesterday was the end of the line for Watson. The Brit was beaten 6-0 6-2 by Radwanska as she crashed out of the competition at the hands of the Pole.

11.08Former women's world number one Kim Clijsters also advanced on Friday - and she will be joined by Sharapova in the latter stages. The former clashes with Angelique Kerber in the fourth - and Sharapova will face Sabine Lisicki.

11.06Richard Gasquet also advanced to set up a fourth-round meeting with Florian Mayer. Meanwhile, Querrey overcame Milos Raonic to set up a third-round clash with Marin Cilic this afternoon.

11.04It was also far from plain sailing for Djokovic. The world number one battled from a set down to beat Czech Radek Stepanek on his way to the fourth round. The Serbian will now face fellow compatriot Victor Troicki in the next round.

11.02Federer had to fight back from two sets down to win - and he was just two points away from joining Nadal on the sidelines. However, the six-time champion did avoid what would have been his earliest exit in 10 years. He will now face Xavier Malisse in the next round.

11.00Have we all recovered from the shock of Rafael Nadal's exit on Thursday yet? I am almost certain that he hasn't. However, we almost had another major casualty on day five with Julien Benneteau running Federer extremely close.
