Danny Murphy picks Aston Villa over Arsenal in FA Cup final

Former Liverpool midfielder believes that underdogs Aston Villa will "edge it" in Saturday's FA Cup final against Arsenal.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has backed Aston Villa to cause a shock in today's FA Cup final by overcoming holders Arsenal.

The Gunners are going for a record 12th victory in football's oldest knockout competition, but BBC Sport pundit Murphy thinks that Villa, chasing their eighth FA Cup win and first since 1957, will "edge it" at Wembley.

"I've got a sneaky feeling Aston Villa will win," Murphy said. "Their semi-final performance against Liverpool was terrific and they played with great confidence considering so many of their players were playing for their lives in the Premier League. Maybe the FA Cup was a nice distraction for them.

"Jack Grealish was amazing in the semi-final and it was as if he has played here a lot of times before. With him in form and Christian Benteke as well I think Villa will just edge it."
