Gaston Ramirez passes a late fitness test to take a starting berth as Middlesbrough host Swansea City.

Gaston Ramirez has passed a late fitness test to take a starting berth as Middlesbrough host Swansea City this afternoon.

The switch in attack is head coach Aitor Karanka's only change from Wednesday's loss to Liverpool as Adama Traore drops to the bench.

George Friend also returns to the matchday squad having been sidelined with a knee problem, but begins the game on the bench.

The visiting Swans also make one alteration from their midweek fixture - a 3-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion - as Jefferson Montero is benched and replaced by Modou Barrow.

Middlesbrough: Valdes; Barragan, Chambers, Gibson, Da Silva; Forshaw, Clayton, De Roon; Ramirez, Negredo, Fischer
Subs: Friend, Bernardo, Leadbitter, Rhodes, Guzan, Downing, Traore

Swansea City: Fabianski; Rangel, Mawson, Amat, Taylor; Fulton, Britton; Barrow, Sigurdsson, Routledge; Llorente
Subs: Van der Hoorn, Fer, Borja Baston, Nordfeldt, Montero, Naughton
