Wes Brown: 'Manchester United are vulnerable'

Sunderland defender Wes Brown claims that his former club Manchester United are "vulnerable" ahead of tonight's League Cup semi-final first leg.

Sunderland defender Wes Brown has claimed that his former club Manchester United are "vulnerable" ahead of tonight's League Cup semi-final first leg at the Stadium of Light.

The Red Devils come into the match on the back of two consecutive home defeats in the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Brown believes that the Black Cats are now in a good position to cause an upset against United and take a step closer to the final.

"Are they vulnerable? Yes because this is a semi-final and everything can happen," he told The Mirror.

"We are at home first so we have got to get a result, and away we will also think we can get a result with United's form at home.

"So it is something we are looking forward to. We have to take advantage of an opportunity like this, although they are still a top side no matter what has happened recently. After all, they won the league only a few months ago."

Brown spent 15 years as a player at Old Trafford before joining Sunderland in 2011.
