Michael Laudrup content despite Swansea City defeat

Michael Laudrup feels that Swansea City played well against Manchester City despite falling to a 3-0 defeat.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has taken the positives from today's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

A second-half double from Samir Nasri added to Alvaro Negredo's early opener at the Etihad Stadium, leaving the Welsh outfit 13th in the Premier League.

"I think it is a little strange to stand up here after a game you lost 3-0 and feel we did many things right," the Dane told reporters. "I think we played very well in the first half and even at the start of the second half.

"But to win against teams like this, especially when you play at their home, you have to take the few chances you get and keep on playing. I think we did well until the third goal, and after that the game was over.

"It is a strange feeling. Of course I am not happy we lost 3-0 but on the other hand I am not really disappointed because I think the players did what they could, what they should."

The Swans play host to Newcastle United on Wednesday.
