Half-Time Report: Manchester City in front against Swansea City

Alvaro Negredo gives Manchester City a 1-0 half-time lead against Swansea City.

Manchester City have taken a 1-0 half time lead against Swansea City at the Etihad Stadium.

Alvaro Negredo continued his goalscoring form when he netted after just eight minutes for Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Alvaro Vazquez, who is in the side for the injured Wilfried Bony, should have equalised after 21 minutes, but his shot was weak and was saved by Costel Pantilimon in the City goal.

Martin Demichelis almost doubled the lead for the hosts when he crashed a header against the crossbar with the half-hour mark approaching.

Jonathan De Guzman spurned a glorious chance at the end of the half to level the score.
