Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly ready to battle it out in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly prepared to enter a bidding war for the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

Having starred for the West Midlands outfit during the most recent campaign, Traore is being linked with a move to a bigger club, potentially for a fee in excess of £60m.

Given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, however, it is unclear whether any club will be able to meet the 24-year-old's asking price.

Nevertheless, according to The Mirror, Wolves will have to sell one of their star men this summer if Nuno Espirito Santo is to make major additions in the transfer window.

With Nuno preferring to keep Raul Jimenez, the report suggests that there is a willingness to cash in on Traore, providing that they receive an acceptable bid.

Liverpool will likely have to sell before lodging a realistic offer, while Traore is no stranger to City boss Pep Guardiola after coming through the Barca youth ranks when the Spaniard was in charge of the Catalan giants.
