Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hands a debut to summer signing Mohamed Salah in their Premier League opener at Watford.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has handed a competitive debut to summer signing Mohamed Salah in their Premier League opener at Watford.

The former Roma player will add width to the Reds' attack, providing support for Roberto Firmino in an advanced forward position.

Youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold has been given the nod at right-back, while Alberto Moreno gets a rare start on the left side of defence.

Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum have been deployed in the middle of the park.

Philippe Coutinho, who recently handed in a transfer request amid interest from Barcelona, is out injured.

Hosts Watford have handed a debut to Nathaniel Chalobah, a summer arrival from Chelsea, starting him at the heart of a 4-3-3 formation.

Fellow summer recruits Andre Gray, Richarlison and Kiko Femenia start the match on the bench.
