Wigan Athletic have landed 19-year-old former Leeds United striker Patrick Antelmi.
The Australian was released by Leeds earlier this year but then impressed former Wigan manager Owen Coyle while on trial with the Latics.
He has now signed an 18-month contract at the DW Stadium even though Coyle was sacked and replaced by Uwe Rosler.
"I'm glad that nothing else went wrong after Owen Coyle left and the new manager came in," Antelmi told Au.fourfourtwo.com.
"I'm glad that they still had faith and also I'm guessing the coaches there that stayed obviously had faith in me and passed it on to the new gaffer.
"I was quite happy when I first walked in there. I think it's a good club, good people and environment."
Antelmi also said that he would be happy to go out on loan to gain first-team experience.
