Derby County 'best value' for Championship season ticket holders

Derby County lead the way in 2013-14's Championship Value League put together by VoucherCodes.co.uk.

Derby County's attacking brand of football, coupled with their well-priced season tickets, means that the Rams have topped the 2013-14 Championship Value League put together by VoucherCodes.co.uk.

The table uses the cost of the cheapest season ticket, as well as the price of the club's shirt, a scarf and a pie and a pint at each game to work out how much is paid for each home win.

Derby, who finished third in the table and are now through to the playoff final at Wembley later this month, offered the best value with each home win costing £29.39.

The two automatically promoted sides, Leicester City and Burnley, came third and second with £35.56 and £33.17 respectively.

Birmingham City might have escaped relegation in miraculous fashion on the final day, but their fans had to pay a whopping £276 per home win, over £150 more than the next-worst (Yeovil Town, £118.13).

The Blues won just two games at St Andrew's in 2013-14 - the last of which was back on October 1.

Derby fans also paid the least to go wild for a goal, with each one scored at home working out at £8.95 each.

Charlton Athletic supporters had to pay the most for a goal as each Addicks strike at The Valley cost £25.77.

Overlooking a team's performance in home games, Ipswich Town are the most expensive club to support while Blackpool are the cheapest.

A season ticket, home shirt, scarf and a pie and pint at every home game would have cost £697 at Portman Road this season, while the same at Bloomfield Road was £366.

VoucherCodes.co.uk also totted up the total distance travelled by the most faithful away fans who went to every game on the road.

Any Yeovil fan who journeyed to every Glovers away game this season would have trekked 4,673 miles, while Derby supporters travelled the shortest distance at 2,468.
