Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen hints that Wesley Sneijder could make the move to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen has revealed that Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder could move to Old Trafford before the window closes tomorrow (Wednesday).

The 27-year-old has been linked to the Red Devils throughout the summer, and talks between the club and Italian side Inter are believed to be ongoing.

Despite United chief executive David Gill claiming that the Premier League champions have finished their summer spending, Meulensteen has hinted that the Dutch midfielder could still make the move.

"A player the calibre of Wesley Sneijder could well suit us,” he told Voetbal International. “I've said it before and I repeat it again - where there’s a will, there's always a way.”

Meanwhile, United resume the defence of their Premier League title after the international break away to Bolton on September 10.
