Sergio Aguero's brother slams "unfair" criticism of Argentina striker

Sergio Aguero's brother Gaston del Castillo says that the Argentina and Manchester City striker has been the victim of "unfair" criticism.

Sergio Aguero has been the victim of "unfair" criticism, according to the Manchester City star's brother Gaston del Castillo.

The striker recently admitted that he would not be surprised if he was dropped from the Argentina squad after going five World Cup qualifiers without scoring a goal.

The 28-year-old was criticised for missing a penalty in Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat to Paraguay, which has put Argentina five points behind group leaders Brazil.

"Yes, it's true, my brother is having a difficult time, as are other players in the national team, but I think we have to keep calm right now," FourFourTwo quotes Del Castillo as saying.

"The penalty he missed is a penalty that you can miss. He's excited with the national team. People can say whatever they want. He's not going to leave the national team. I think he will continue playing for Argentina.

"It really is unfair. It's tough criticism for any footballer."

Argentina have not won any of their last three games.
