Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran has said that he is delighted at how well the first four months of his loan spell at Middlesbrough have gone.

The 19-year-old moved to the Riverside Stadium on a season-long deal in August and he has been a regular fixture in Tony Mowbray's Boro side ever since.

"It's been really good. I've made 19 starts, so I'm getting minutes under my belt," McEachran told Chelsea's official website. "The team have been winning games, so everything, up to now, has been going really well.

"The Championship is a lot quicker, every game is played at 100 miles per hour and there are plenty of fierce tackles flying in all the time.

"At first, I was shocked at just how fast-paced it is, but obviously the more games you play, it becomes easier to deal with."

Since making his Chelsea debut in September 2010, McEachran has made 22 first-team appearances for the Blues, 15 of which have been as a substitute.
