Kenny Dalglish targets last home victory

Kenny Dalglish thinks that it would be "fitting" for Liverpool to finish their last home game of the season with a win over Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has urged his players to win their last home game of the season when they take on Chelsea this evening.

While the Reds' results at Anfield have been less than impressive, the Scottish boss is confident that his side can overcome the Blues just days after losing the FA Cup final to the London side at Wembley.

"It would be fitting if we could finish off at home with a victory," Dalglish told the club's official website. "Everyone knows the home results haven't been great this season despite some excellent performances along the way.

"It would be a little bit of solace for the punters who have given us tremendous support throughout the season if we could get a win. We want them to go home with a certain amount of satisfaction and we can do that by getting the three points.

"It would be fantastic for everyone to get a positive result – for both the players and the supporters."

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is expected to field a strong side against Liverpool tonight as they try to blast into the top four.
