Raul: 'Gareth Bale will be a great signing for Real Madrid'

Former Real Madrid striker Raul praises his former club for their pursuit of Gareth Bale, as they close in on a world record-breaking £93m deal for the Welshman.

Former Real Madrid striker Raul has praised the club for their pursuit of Gareth Bale.

Los Blancos are reportedly on the verge of concluding a world record-breaking deal for the Tottenham Hotspur star.

The fee is said to be around £93m with Portuguese full-back Fabio Coentrao heading the other way, and Madrid legend Raul believes that the move will be a good one for the Liga giants.

"He's a dominating player, makes a difference and behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is a player who comes with drive," Raul is quoted as saying in Marca.

"All clubs would like to have him in their ranks. It seems that Real Madrid is going to make a big effort and if so everyone in Madrid will be happy and will enjoy a lot of his game."

Bale scooped the Player and Young Player of the Year awards last season en route to scoring 22 Premier League goals for Spurs.
