Anton Ferdinand insists that QPR's trip to Manchester United is about much more than him and brother Rio.

Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand has said that this week's showdown at Manchester United is not about him and brother Rio Ferdinand.

The former Sunderland man, who arrived at Loftus Road in the summer, insists that the meeting will have significant implications at both ends of the Premier League table.

"There is a lot at stake for both of us at opposite ends of the table," he told the club's official website.

"We are both professional and competitive and we both hate losing. But this game is not about me and Rio.

"It's about QPR trying to get something out of the game. Our spirits are high after beating one of the league's in-form teams."

The Hoops are without a win on the road since November.
