Manchester City interest 'flatters' Eliaquim Mangala

Eliaquim Mangala provides a positive reaction to reports linking him with a transfer to Manchester City.

Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala has conceded that he has been left "flattered" by speculation that Manchester City are keen on his services.

A report over the weekend claimed that City boss Manuel Pellegrini is an admirer of the French defender's talents and could even submit a bid for his signature during the January transfer window.

However, despite confessing that it is nice to be linked with the Premier League outfit, the centre-back insists that he is content in Portugal.

"I am delighted to continue and progress with Porto," he told Sky Sports News. "I like the club and I never asked to leave and they were not willing to sell me in the first place.

"People talk about my valuation as high but it is not me who prices me. But it does not affect me, my job is to come and perform at my best on the green surface.

"Man City is nowadays one of the big clubs in the world so you are always flattered by their interest in you."

Porto are believed to value the 22-year-old at £30m.
