Mark Hughes: 'it will be tough to stop Manchester City'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes acknowledges that his side have a tough task to earn a result against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that he has been impressed with Manchester City's ability to challenge in all four competitions throughout the season.

City face an uphill task to stay in the Champions League, but they remain on course for a domestic treble and ahead of Stoke's trip to the Etihad Stadium, Hughes was full of praise for his former side.

The 50-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "They're able to go from one challenge to another and refocus very quickly. They've got a huge squad of great quality. The difficulty from my point of view is knowing who they're going to pick on the day.

"They've been absolutely outstanding at home and averaged a significant amount of goals as well, so it's a huge task."

Stoke held Manchester City to a goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium in September.
