Paolo Di Canio: The Italian added another page to his book of bizarre gestures when he approached the Sunderland fans following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion. Who knows if it was an effort to appease the anger of the Black Cats supporters after a poor start to the season, but 24 hours later he was sacked.
Goal of the week
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) vs. Manchester United: The Argentine got City going in the derby with a goal more about technique and finesse than bombast. Aguero was able to get in front of his marker before flicking Aleksandar Kolarov's cross into the net with a sublime deft touch.
