Vincent Kompany says that beating Liverpool at Anfield isn't an easy task for Manchester City.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has warned his side ahead of their visit to Liverpool on Sunday.

City started the defence of their Premier League title by seeing off Southampton 3-2 at home, while Liverpool were upset 3-0 at West Bromwich Albion on their opening day.

The two sides meet at Anfield on Sunday, but despite their poor start to the campaign, Kompany believes that Liverpool will not be a walkover.

"Playing at Anfield has never been easy," said the Belgium international. "They have always been very difficult, intense games.

"They will fancy their chances. But we fancy ours as well."

The game kicks off at 4pm on Sunday.
