Preview: Livingston vs. Hibernian - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash between Livingston and Hibernian, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Hibernian will face Livingston this weekend, aiming to finish top of the Scottish Premiership relegation group.

The visitors are already relegated, but they will look to finish the campaign strongly on the final day.

It has been a season to forget for the visitors, as evidenced by their relegation already being confirmed.

While Livingston have nothing to play for in that respect, it could work in their favour for this particular match as the team will be able to play with an element of freedom due to the lack of pressure.

Giving the fans something to cheer about to end a dismal season will be a priority for the squad, but they will need to provide a better performance than their midweek efforts against Aberdeen.

Despite Tete Yengi giving the Lions the lead in the 52nd minute, the Dons went on to beat them 5-1 in a game to forget for Livingston.

David Martindale will be looking to start preparing for next season already, though, while members of his squad may be attempting to put themselves in the shop window, which could lead to focused performances.

Hibernian currently sit second in the relegation group heading into the season's final weekend, but with just two points between them and Aberdeen, there is still plenty to play for on Sunday.

While they will be relying on the Dons not winning their respective match, the Hibees will need to finish the job by picking up three points.

David Gray's men head into the game on the back of a 3-0 win against Motherwell in midweek, with a brace from Martin Boyle and a goal by Myziane Maolida securing the result.

Hibernian might have been stronger in home fixtures this season, but they have managed to defeat Livingston both times they have met so far without conceding a goal, showcasing their ability to cause the Lions problems.

While they are looking above in the table at the moment, the Hibees will also be wary that a defeat could lead to Motherwell overtaking them, adding a little extra pressure.

Team News

Yengi should lead the line for the hosts this weekend, with his individual performances being one of the bright sparks in a difficult season for Livingston.

James Penrice missed out against Aberdeen through injury, and he is a doubt heading into the final game of the season.

David Marshall was still not recalled in goal for Hibernian in midweek, which could lead to Joe Wollacott finishing the campaign between the sticks.

Boyle will hope to retain his place in the team after scoring a brace, while Dylan Vente is expected to play as a lone striker.

Livingston possible starting lineup:
George; Nottingham, Devlin, Kelly, Montano; Pittman, Brandon; Nouble, Kelly, Bradley; Yengi

Hibernian possible starting lineup:
Wollacott; Cadden, Bushiri, Hanlon, Obita; Levitt, Newell; Campbell, Marcondes, Maolida; Vente

We say: Livingston 0-3 Hibernian

Livingston might have the freedom of having nothing to play for heading into this weekend, but that is unlikely to be enough to stop the visitors picking up three points.

Hibernian have been a far superior team during this campaign, and the fact they can still finish higher up the league table should be the deciding factor.
