Ipswich Town have reportedly made the breakthrough in discussions for Chelsea forward Armando Broja.

On the back of earning a return to the Premier League, the Tractor Boys' hierarchy have shown ambition in attracting some high-profile names to Portman Road.

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Blackburn Rovers forward Sammie Szmodics have each signed for the club in recent days.

The latter was the Championship top goalscorer for 2023-24 and is expected to become a regular in the final third, either as a frontline striker or in chief support.

Liverpool have reportedly moved to the brink of securing a deal for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

New head coach Arne Slot has surprisingly failed to welcome a single incoming to Anfield since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the dugout.

That did not stop the Merseyside giants from starting the 2024-25 Premier League campaign with a 2-0 victory at Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, yet it is an open secret that the Dutchman wishes to add to his squad.

In the short term, a new centre-back, central midfielder and attacker are all possibilities, particularly the former with Sepp van den Berg potentially being sold to Brentford.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher's transfer saga is reportedly almost at an end, with Atletico Madrid set to announce the completion of his move to Spain in the next 24 hours.

Gallagher was one of Mauricio Pochettino's standout performers last season but decided to pursue a move away from Stamford Bridge after being made aware he would not be a guaranteed starter under new boss Enzo Maresca.

The England international is now in the final 12 months of his current deal with the Blues after failing to agree new terms with the club.

The 24-year-old midfielder had agreed to personal terms with the La Liga outfit weeks ago, but the deal stalled after Chelsea halted their pursuit of Atletico forward Samu Omorodion.

Despite showing flashes of promise, Mejbri has never managed to nail down a regular starting role in Erik ten Hag's side over the last few seasons.

The 21-year-old spent the latter half of last term on loan at Sevilla and is no stranger to the Championship, having played for Birmingham City on loan during the 2022-23 league campaign.

The Tunisian international made just six league appearances for the La Liga outfit last season following a public dispute with manager Quique Sanchez Flores.

The 25-year-old came through the ranks at Arsenal but has struggled to nail down a starting role since debuting for the Gunners senior team in 2019.

Nketiah is widely expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer in search of guaranteed game time and was on the verge of joining Marseille in recent weeks.

The striker was believed to have agreed personal terms with Roberto De Zerbi's side but the deal collapsed as the Ligue 1 outfit failed to meet Arsenal's valuation of their player.

The 27-year-old was signed by the North London club from Manchester City at the start of the 2022-23 season in a deal worth around £45m.

Jesus impressed in his first season at the Emirates, scoring 11 goals and setting up six in 26 Premier League matches, but struggled to follow up on that performance in his second campaign.

Last season, he scored just four goals in 27 league appearances and dropped in the pecking order behind Kai Havertz, who also started the Gunners' first match of the current league campaign as the first-choice number-nine.

The German, who announced his international retirement on Monday, ended his seven-year association with the Citizens last summer in search of a fresh challenge and decided to join Barcelona on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Gundogan scored five goals and provided 14 assists in 51 appearances for Barca across all competitions last season, and he hit the appearance requirements to extend his contract by a further 12 months, keeping him tied to Camp Nou until June 2026.

However, reports have since emerged claiming that the 33-year-old has agreed to leave Barcelona this summer following a conversation with new head coach Hansi Flick, and he wants to make a swift return to Man City.

Chelsea could reportedly rival Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli for the signature of Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer.

The England international, who has been the subject of much speculation throughout this summer, is facing an uncertain future at Brentford having now entered the final year of his contract.

Toney has established himself as an integral first-team star for the Bees since joining the club in 2020, scoring 72 goals in 141 appearances across all competitions.

After netting 20 Premier League goals in the 2022-23 campaign, Toney was banned for eight months from football for breaching betting rules, before returning in January of last season and chipping in with four goals in 17 top-flight outings.

Prior to scoring twice for Spain at Euro 2024, including a goal in the final against England, Williams contributed with eight goals and 19 assists in 37 appearances for Athletic across all competitions last season.

There have been conflicting reports about the future of Williams, with one recently claiming that he is keen to join Barcelona, who have been told that they must activate his €55m (£47m) release clause if they wish to sign the attacker.

The 21-year-old has long been regarded as one of the top academy graduates at Carrow Road for some time, showcasing his potential since being handed 13 outings in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

However, it was not until last season where the winger delivered in the first team, contributing 12 goals and two assists from his 32 appearances in the Championship.

On the downside for Norwich, it did not lead to promotion, and Rowe has subsequently decided that he does not want to extend his contract past 2025.

Despite impressing during his opening two years at the Emirates Stadium, Ramsdale was ousted by David Raya last season soon after the Spaniard's arrival.

As a result, it has been well documented that the England international is keen to secure regular football elsewhere, whether that be on a permanent or temporary basis.

From Arsenal's perspective, however, they are in no particular rush to part ways with the Three Lions stopper, aware that they could benefit from retaining his services in the short term.
