Scott McTominay has admitted that it was a "big decision" for him to leave Manchester United, but has acknowledged that he must "look out for number one" and has "no regrets" over joining Napoli.

The Scotland international joined the Red Devils at the age of five and worked his way through the club's youth ranks before going on to make a total of 255 first-team appearances across all competitions.

McTominay scored 29 goals for Man United, netting 10 times in his most productive season for the club in 2023-24, and won the FA Cup and EFL Cup under former boss Erik ten Hag.

The 28-year-old was not considered a first-team regular by Ten Hag, though, and instead of sticking around at Old Trafford in the hope of breaking through, he opted to embark on a fresh challenge in Italy with Antonio Conte's Napoli.

Robertson out, Robinson in? Liverpool must target a new left-back in the summer

Fulham's Antonee Robinson has been linked with a move to Anfield on December 17, 2024

Liverpool must look to replace Andy Robertson in the summer, but Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson is unlikely to be a candidate, Reds expert David Lynch has argued.

The Merseysiders might have dropped points against Fulham on Saturday after drawing 2-2 at Anfield, but the team earned praise for their performance considering Robertson was sent off in the first half when the Cottagers were winning 1-0.

The Scottish left-back was arguably at fault for Fulham's opener, and though there have been suggestions from the likes of Gary Lineker and Dermot Gallagher that he should not have been sent off later in the game, his poor touch and poor tackle gave the referee a decision to make.

Robertson's counterpart Robinson registered two assists against Liverpool, but despite impressing at times on Saturday, Lynch played down speculation linking the American with a move to Anfield despite the need for a new left-back, telling Sports Mole: "I struggle to see [a transfer] just because of age - he's 28 come the end of this season and Liverpool would like to sign someone who's 23, 24.

Arsenal could reportedly be open to negotiating a swap deal in order to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window.

The Serbia international was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe when he starred at Fiorentina between 2018 and 2022, and it was Juventus who spent an initial €70m to win the race for his signature.

Vlahovic has struggled with injuries during his time in Turin, but he has still managed to record 53 goals and 11 assists in 121 appearances for the Italian giants across all competitions.

The 24-year-old, who has netted 12 times in 20 games so far this season, is under contract at Juventus until June 2026, but speculation over his long-term future has surfaced ahead of the winter window.

Marcus Rashford has revealed that he is "ready for a new challenge and the next steps", with the forward seemingly confirming that he will be leaving Manchester United in the near future.

There is currently a host of speculation surrounding the attacker's future, with Man United said to be willing to let him leave for as little as £40m during the January transfer window.

Rashford has again found it difficult to show his best form this season despite a respectable tally of seven goals in 24 appearances, and he was left out of the Red Devils squad for Sunday's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old could be involved against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup on Thursday night, but the Man United academy product has suggested that his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will reportedly be backed by the club to pursue two of his top targets in the January transfer window.

Although the Catalan coach is keen to see a number of current first-team stars return from injury, he recently refused to rule out the possibility of the Citizens delving into the winter market to bolster his relatively small squad.

Amidst their well-documented poor run of form and fitness problems, the Citizens have been tipped to sign at least one new midfielder, as Ballon d'Or winner Rodri is ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The addition of a new right-sided defender has also been mooted amidst the decline of 34-year-old Kyle Walker, while City only have one natural centre-forward in the form of Erling Haaland after selling Julian Alvarez last summer.

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been urged to leave the club in search of regular minutes by his national team manager.

The 26-year-old has featured on eight occasions in the Premier League for the Reds this season, largely due to the hamstring injury suffered by Alisson Becker.

Since the return of the Brazilian from the medical room, Kelleher has taken his spot back on the bench for top flight and Champions League matches.

Following his academy graduation in 2018, the Irishman has managed 59 competitive appearances for the Reds, never breaking into the preferred XI of either Jurgen Klopp or new boss Arne Slot.

Leeds United reportedly face fierce competition in the race to sign Aston Villa forward Louie Barry.

The 21-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Stockport County, his second such stint at Edgeley Park having initially helped County to promotion from League Two during 2023-24.

However, during this campaign, the attacker has taken his game to new levels, contributing 14 goals and one assist from his 20 appearances in League One.

Although Stockport would naturally like to retain his services for the entire season, Villa are said to want Barry to experience Championship football for the first time.

'Self-confessed admirer' - Spanish giants identify Garnacho as January target?

Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old has been one of many casualties during the beginning of Ruben Amorim's reign at Old Trafford, missing out on the matchday party for the 2-1 win at Manchester City on Sunday.

Amorim stated post-match that the decision to omit Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the squad at the Etihad was purely tactical.

After playing on 50 occasions for the Red Devils across all competitions last season, Garnacho has been utilised sparingly by new boss Amorim.

Man United 'approach' top target amid doubts over Rashford, Zirkzee

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford on December 7, 2024
© Imago

Manchester United have reportedly turned their attentions back to Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, with the futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee unclear.

Rashford was dropped from the Man United squad entirely by new manager Ruben Amorim at the weekend for the Manchester derby, fuelling rumours his time at the club is coming to an end.

Seven goals across all competitions is not an awful return by any means, but all of Rashford's Premier League strikes have come against teams in the bottom five, he was dropped after scoring twice against Everton, hooked before the hour away to Viktoria Plzen, and then left out versus City.

Zirkzee also scored twice in the 4-0 win over Everton, but that trebled his tally for the season in one afternoon for a striker that has struggled to settle in Manchester.
