Some more news for United fans, although I'll let you decide whether this is good or bad. Fresh from being linked to Tottenham Hotspur, winger Ashley Young is now reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal with the Old Trafford outfit.

All of the big news seems to be coming out of Old Trafford tonight! The Red Devils have reportedly entered a cheeky bid for Everton's John Stones after Chelsea had a second offer turned down earlier today. A sign that Louis van Gaal has switched his focus away from Sergio Ramos, perhaps?

Ashley Williams is one of the transfer window's perennial favourites, always being linked with a move away from Swansea but never actually leaving. Well, with Crystal Palace the latest club to reportedly declare an interest, it looks like being the same old story as Garry Monk has said that his skipper is going nowhere.

Another player who hasn't been far from the gossip pages all summer is Liverpool's Rickie Lambert. He is widely expected to leave Anfield before the window shuts, and West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has confirmed that he would be interested in the striker.

A couple of lines coming out of Southampton now, where Ronald Koeman has been speaking about the future of two of his strikers. The Dutchman is still unsure regarding the injury-plagued Gaston Ramirez, but he is in no doubt about Emmanuel Mayuka, who has "no future" at St Mary's.

Over to the Championship now and Queens Park Rangers have reportedly agreed a fee with Wigan Athletic for the services of defender James Perch. QPR are believed to have had at least two bid rebuffed before the clubs settled on an appropriate figure.

Back to the Premier League and the John Stones saga looks destined to rage on. Manchester City have become the latest club to be linked with the Everton defender, with the Sky Blues reportedly weighing up whether to rival Chelsea for the player's services.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat is said to be keen to reunite with Rennes midfielder Ola Toivonen, a player he managed during his time with PSV Eindhoven. The French club are reportedly willing to entertain offers of £4m or higher, but a host of other clubs are circling the Sweden international.

North of the boarder, Hearts are expected to complete the signing of Nigeria international Juwon Oshaniwa from FC Ashdod this week. Work permit and visa delays were holding up that deal, but the full-back will reportedly finalise his switch on Friday.

How about a recap on all of the transfer gossip you may have missed from earlier this evening? You can get yourself up to speed with our latest Transfer Talk update here.
