Former Ipswich Town striker Noel Hunt has reportedly opened talks with Southend United over a move to the League One club.
The Republic of Ireland international, 32, was released by Ipswich at the end of last season.
Hunt is now edging closer to joining Southend ahead of the new campaign, according to BBC Sport.
The forward's former clubs also include Leeds United and Reading.
