Sevilla score four in win against Slask Wroclaw

Sevilla beat Slask Wroclaw 4-1 in tonight's Europa League playoff after two goals from Marko Marin.

Sevilla have beaten Slask Wroclaw 4-1 in tonight's Europa League playoff.

Unai Emery's side started brightly and had the ball in the net, but Bryan Rabello's effort was ruled out for offside.

Ivan Rakitic then shot wide of the crossbar as the home side began to create chances.

However, Slask took the lead just moments later when Marco Paixao rose highest in the box to score with a powerful header.

Slask were a threat on the counter although Sevilla could have equalised when Kevin Gameiro found space in the box, but Rafal Gikiewicz saved.

Gikiewicz again pushed away another effort, this time from Marko Marin.

Paixao was causing the home side's defence trouble and he broke the offside trap after 35 minutes but couldn't beat Antonio Alberto Beto in Sevilla's goal.

The equaliser came thanks to Rakitic's free kick which settled in the bottom corner despite Gikiewicz's best efforts.

The second 45 minutes were much like the first 45 as both sides looked to attack.

Slask had the first chance to take the lead as first Paixao forced Beto to save before Carlos Dudu saw an even better effort palmed away by the goalkeeper.

Dudu's evening was soon over, however, when he was sent off after 55 minutes.

Sevilla failed to make the most of some good play toward the half-way point of the second half, but did edge ahead with 20 minutes left.

Marin, the on-loan Chelsea midfielder, collected the ball outside the box before firing a low effort into the bottom corner.

It could have been 3-0 when Gameiro picked up a pass from Marin but his low shot was thwarted by a fine Gikiewicz save.

However, Gameiro was soon on the scoresheet five minutes before the end with a strong header.

Marin wrapped up the win minutes later with Sevilla's fourth and his second. The midfielder ran into the box and rounded Gikiewicz for a tap-in.
