Stanislas Wawrinka through in Cincinnati Open

World number four Stanislas Wawrinka sees off Benjamin Becker in straight sets to reach the third round of the Cincinnati Open.

Stanislas Wawrinka has recorded a straight-sets victory against Benjamin Becker in their second-round contest at the Cincinnati Open.

The world number four was dominant behind his first serve in the opener, allowing Becker just two points as he took the set on his one break point.

Becker, the world number 57, competed better in the second as he traded breaks of serves with Wawrinka, but it was the Swiss who prevailed in a tie-break to record a 6-3 7-6 win.

The Australian Open champion will now play either Fernando Verdasco or Marin Cilic in the last 16.
