Nuno Espirito Santo, Steve Bruce in running for MOTM award

The four-man shortlist for November's Championship Manager of the Month is announced, with Nuno Espirito Santo and Steve Bruce both in the running.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo and Aston Villa's Steve Bruce are in the running to win the Championship Manager of the Month award for November.

The four-man shortlist also includes Jaap Stam and Neil Warnock, of Reading and Cardiff City respectively, who saw their teams hit peak form in the penultimate month of the year.

Nuno's side claimed a perfect four wins out of four to extend their advantage at the top of the table, while Villa - who started the campaign slowly - earned four wins from five to remain on course for a return to the top flight.

November also proved to be a kind month for Stam at the Madejski Stadium, having turned his side's fortunes around with eight points from the 15 on offer to ease some of the growing pressure.

Elsewhere, Cardiff continued to defy expectations under Warnock thanks to nine points from their four matches - the only defeat coming to Bristol City on November 4 - and conceding just a couple of goals in the process.

The winner of the monthly award, won by Gary Rowett of Derby County in October, will be announced on Friday morning.
