Liverpool team news: Predicted XI vs. Everton

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Sunday's Merseyside derby against Everton as captain Jordan Henderson misses the game through suspension.

Liverpool will try to put their Champions League worries behind them this Sunday when they welcome neighbours Everton to Anfield for the 232nd Merseyside derby.

The Reds are still unbeaten in the Premier League this season and go into the weekend sitting only two points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool are also enjoying their longest ever unbeaten streak against Everton and have not lost a home Merseyside derby since 1999, but Everton will be encouraged by their own recent form.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Jurgen Klopp could line his side up at Anfield.

Possible LIV XI vs. EVE

Out: Jordan Henderson (suspended), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Adam Lallana (muscle)
Doubtful: Dominic Solanke (groin), Divock Origi (illness)

Liverpool will be without captain Jordan Henderson for the derby following his red card against Watford last weekend, which increases the likelihood of James Milner starting.

There are growing calls for Klopp to hand more regular football to Fabinho and in particular Naby Keita, but the German boss could opt for previous derby experience in this match which would give Milner the edge.

Many of Liverpool's best performances this season have come in a 4-2-3-1 formation, and after the 4-3-3 midfield trio struggled again in the Champions League on Wednesday Klopp is expected to revert to that system this weekend.

Xherdan Shaqiri could therefore earn a recall while Mohamed Salah would lead the line on what will be his 50th Premier League appearance for Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was left out during the midweek defeat to Paris Saint-Germain but could return for this match, which would also see Joe Gomez move inside and Dejan Lovren drop out of the team.
