Manchester United reportedly intend to hand Jadon Sancho their iconic number seven shirt, currently occupied by Edinson Cavani, should he join from Borussia Dortmund.

Edinson Cavani may reportedly be willing to give up his number seven shirt should Jadon Sancho join Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils continue to negotiate a deal with Dortmund for the 21-year-old attacker, who boasts 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for the German side.

United are desperate to bring Sancho to Old Trafford this summer and are supposedly going to make the youngster the face of a new era at the club.

According to Eurosport, United chiefs want Sancho to wear the iconic number seven shirt, which is currently occupied by Cavani.

It is claimed that the Uruguay international, who joined United last year and recently signed a 12-month contract extension, may be willing to swap numbers.

The likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo have all sported the shirt in the past.
