Marcus Rashford's record vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole looks at Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford's record against Arsenal ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford is set to return to the Manchester United squad for Sunday's Premier League clash with title-challenging Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The England international has been absent since the FA Cup semi-final success over Coventry City, missing out against Sheffield United, Burnley and Crystal Palace in the league.

However, Rashford was back in training on Thursday, and Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said during his press conference on Friday that the forward was in line to return against the Gunners.

The 26-year-old has only managed eight goals and five assists in 40 appearances for Man United this season, but his return for the clash with Mikel Arteta's side is a huge boost for the club.

With that in mind, Sports Mole looks at how the Red Devils academy product has performed against Arsenal during his professional career.

Rashford has faced Arsenal on 17 occasions in all competitions, boasting a record of six wins, four draws and seven defeats, while he has scored six times and provided four assists.

The forward famously made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in 2016, scoring twice and providing an assist in a 3-2 success for the 20-time English champions at Old Trafford.

Sixteen of his 17 matches against Arsenal have come in the league, with his record standing at five wins, four draws and seven defeats, scoring six goals and registering four assists.

Rashford has also tackled the North London club on one occasion in the FA Cup, helping his side record a 3-1 victory over the Gunners in the fourth round of the competition back in January 2019.

The attacker has impressed in his recent meetings with Arsenal, scoring four times and registering one assist in the last three Premier League meetings between the two sides.

Indeed, he scored a brace in a 3-1 home success for Man United last season, before finding the back of the net in a 3-2 defeat for the Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium.

Rashford also registered in Man United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the league earlier this term, but four of his six goals against the capital outfit have come at Old Trafford.

The Englishman has helped the Red Devils win their last two home league games against Arsenal, which should hand him confidence heading into Sunday's showdown in Manchester.
