Man Utd injury update vs. Arsenal - Martinez, Fernandes, Rashford return dates

Manchester United will be aiming to bounce back from their four-goal defeat at Crystal Palace when they welcome title-challenging Arsenal to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag's side suffered a 4-0 loss to Palace last time out, with the result keeping them in eighth spot in the Premier League table, two points behind sixth-placed Newcastle United.

The 20-time English champions will face Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton & Hove Albion in their final three league games of the season before tackling Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Arsenal, who are top of the division, one point clear of second-placed Man City.

Mason Mount

Status: Out Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Mount has suffered yet another injury problem ahead of this match, but the England international is expected to return before the end of the Premier League season.

Harry Maguire

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Maguire will miss the end of the Premier League season due to a muscular problem, but the centre-back has a chance of being back for the FA Cup final at the end of the month.

Raphael Varane

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Varane was forced off at the interval of the recent Premier League clash with Chelsea due to another injury problem, and it remains to be seen whether he will recover before the end of the campaign.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Lindelof will again be absent on Sunday due to the hamstring issue which he picked up in the Premier League contest with Brentford at the end of March, and he faces a battle to be back before the season concludes.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: May 15 (vs. Newcastle United)

Martinez picked up a calf issue during a training session last month, but the Argentina international has now returned to training and has a chance of being in the squad against Newcastle United next week.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia is bidding to recover from a knee injury which has required two separate operations, and the Dutchman will not be available for Man United until next season.

Anthony Martial

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Arsenal)

Martial, who underwent a groin operation in January, returned to team training last week, so there is a slight chance that he could be considered for selection here.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Shaw is currently on the sidelines with another muscular problem, but the left-back is believed to be on course to return to action before the season ends.

Willy Kambwala

Status: Out Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: Unknown

Kambwala has now missed Man United's last four matches with an unspecified issue, and he will again be absent for the 20-time English champions against Arsenal.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Arsenal)

Rashford has missed his side's last three matches due to a problem which he picked up against Coventry City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but the attacker has a chance of recovering in time to feature this weekend, as he was able to train on Thursday.

Scott McTominay

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Arsenal)

McTominay was forced off in the latter stages of the clash against Burnley on April 27 due to a knee injury, but he was close to featuring against Palace and should therefore be available this weekend.

Bruno Fernandes

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Wrist Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Arsenal)

Fernandes missed out against Palace last time out due to a minor issue, thought to be related to his wrist, but the club captain is being backed to return to the squad on Sunday.
