Manchester City are reportedly prepared to hand Benfica youngster Joao Felix a deal worth £26m in order to win the race for his services.
Felix emerged as one of the standout prospects in European football during the most recent campaign as he netted 19 times during his first full year of senior football.
The 19-year-old's performances have inevitably led to interest from high-profile clubs, although club president Luis Felipe Vieira had appeared against a sale taking place this summer until indicating that the player wanted to move on.
According to Record, City are ready to hand Felix a five-year contract worth £26m as they look to see off any approach from neighbours Manchester United.
The Premier League champions have also allegedly said that they will meet the newly-capped Portugal international's release clause, which is said to stand at £106m.body check tags ::
