Robin van Persie will face his former club for the first time by being selected for Manchester United against Arsenal.

Robin van Persie will face his former club Arsenal for the first time since moving to Manchester United this summer.

The Dutch frontman has been selected alongside Wayne Rooney for the Gunners' visit to Old Trafford this afternoon.

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young line up on the wings for United, with Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley in the heart of midfield.

For the visitors, Arsene Wenger has opted for both Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, with Santi Cazorla completing a front three completely made up of summer signings.

Jack Wilshere also starts a second game in a row for Arsenal following his long absence from the game.
