Manchester City could reportedly be banned from the Champions League for at least one season if they are found guilty of financial irregularities.

Manchester City could reportedly be banned from the Champions League if the club is found guilty of financial irregularities.

A regulatory committee has been investigating Man City after German news outlet Der Spiegel raised allegations of financial misconduct.

Former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme is leading UEFA's financial control board, which is understood to have met in Switzerland two weeks ago to discuss their findings.

A report into the allegations could be filed as early as this week, and the New York Times claims that the board will push for Man City to be expelled from the Champions League.

The body will reportedly recommend at least a one-season ban for the newly-crowned Premier League champions, who were knocked out by Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals of this year's competition.

However, Man City have denied any wrongdoing and would likely fight any ruling which sees them suspended from Europe's premier club competition.
