Scottish League One roundup: Dunfermline put seven past Cowdenbeath

Dunfermline score seven to remain top of the table, while Forfar Athletic and Peterhead both score four.

Dunfermline Athletic smashed seven goals past Cowdenbeath to win 7-1 and remain top of Scottish League One.

Fayssal El-Bakhtaoui scored two goals within the first 10 minutes to give Dunfermline a healthy lead, with Michael Moffat and Joe Cardle also scoring. Cowdenbeath, who remain bottom of the table, had Craig Johnston sent off before David Hopkirk and Ryan Wallace added to the lead. Joe Cardle also scored before Patrick Scullion snatched a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Forfar Athletic beat Albion Rovers 4-0 thanks to two goals from Kerr Hay, and one apiece from Kevin Nicoll and Danny Denholm.

Peterhead also scored four goals, two in the last 10 minutes, as they beat Stranraer 4-0. Rory McAllister scored twice to add to goals from Jordon Brown and Leighton McIntosh.

Alan Forrest and an Alan Trouten penalty sandwiched a goal from Brechin's Robert Thomson as Ayr United beat Brechin City, who had goalkeeper Graeme Smith sent off in the last play of the game, 2-1 to move to fifth in the table.

Alan Cook and Sean Crighton scored for Stenhousemuir and Airdrieonians respectively as the two sides drew 1-1.
